Pedro Feliz traded to Cardinals

Perhaps I missed it, but I didn't see this trade posted anywhere else on the site. Not too surprising of a pick-up for StL considering Lopez's struggles both offensively and defensively this year. I am also assuming it means we can put the Counsell to the Cardinals rumors from earlier this week to rest.

Even with Lopez's struggles, he's still much better than Feliz. Seriously, a .243 OBP.

They were just looking for a good defensive 3B. I don't think they cared about his bat.

 

Just imagine the headline at AstroFan.net "Feliz traded to Cards for P Carpenter!".

Among the Brewers with a higher OPS+ than Feliz are Yovani Gallardo, Manny Parra, and Chris Narveson. Randy Wolf was only a couple ticks behind him when I looked the other day. I think Robin is right, though -- after Lopez's defensive gaffes basically cost the Cards the first game of the Brewers series, I'm sure they see defense as a bigger issue than anything at third base.

I couldn't believe how the guys on MLB network were gushing about his bat helping the Cardinal offense and why this shows how smart the Cardinals are and poised to go deep in the playoffs.

the Cardinals pitching staff is built around throwing ground balls.....therefore this move makes sense because it strengthen's there defense

 

...they've allowed 45 unearned runs to-date, the most of the NL playoff contenders......btw the Brewers have allowed a whopping 60 unearned runs; the defense MUST improve next year

 

BTW ....I hate LaRussa with every fiber of my being
