I think it would be hard to be Larry Yount or Mike Maddux. . .to be the big brother in the family who has a remarkable athletic career (Yount was good enough to make the majors and Maddux was in the bigs for several years)--but then to have your greatness completely eclipsed by your younger sibling. . .That would have to be a bit humbling.

 

While you're surely proud of your younger brother, there's got to be part of you which begs to ask "Why couldn't that have been me?".

The older brothers are what made the younger brothers better.

That's a great point SuperCollector. Just look at Billy Ripken and Ozzie Canseco, the younger of the twins.

 

But younger siblings always have to play harder to keep up with their big brother/sister.
