as the brewers embark on their first road trip of the 2021 championship season, they are allowed to bring up to five players from the alternate training site roster as a taxi squad. if they bring five, at least one of them must be a catcher, and he may serve as a bullpen catcher during the road trip. taxi squad players may work out with the club, but are not allowed in uniform or in the dugout during games.

 

last year, the brewers were quite secretive about their taxi squads, but observant fans might be able to compile a list of the players on each taxi squad (it may change from road trip to road trip). please report here if player sightings are confirmed.

so, this begs the question . . . was brad boxberger in chicago yesterday with a taxi squad, or is he coming down from the temporary alternate training site in milwaukee because there was no taxi squad?
