Final: ACL Cubs 9, ACL Brewers 0
    Box Score and Game Log

Yeah, this was obviously a trouncing but let’s go behind the final score.

Through 4 innings, our Arizona Crew had stranded 9 baserunners and trailed 1-0. In fact, it remained 1-0 until starting 19-year old RHP Bryan Rivera tired in the 6th inning (issuing 2 walks) and gave way to LHP Osbriel Mogollon, who conceded a triple and homer to the first two batters he faced for a 5-0 deficit.

Rivera’s final line is thus less kind: 5 1/3 IP, 3 R, 2 H, 4 BB, 4 Ks, but we should be encouraged with the overall performance.

As for the offense: generating just 4 singles, 8 walks and an HBP over a full 9-inning game was less encouraging. Stranding 12 baserunners while going 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position and striking out 11 times indicates further frustration.

Other than Rivera, we can note the positive contributions of 2B Josh Adamczewski (2-for-5, SB; season OPS of .950), 1B Johan Barrios (1-for-3, walk) and RHP Samuel Valerio (1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 K).

The loss drops the ACL Brewers to 20-27, with a game at the ACL Reds (26-22) scheduled for Tuesday.

Final: DSL Brewers Uno 12, DSL Pirates Black 3 (in 7 innings as scheduled)
    Box Score and Game Log

January 2024 super-signing SS Jesus Made (DHing today) had a leadoff double to spark a 4-run first inning, then smacked a 3-run homer in the fourth inning to restore the advantage to 7-3.

Thanks to @wiguy94 in our daily forum, we even have video of that sweet, confident swing via Jesus' Instagram feed: https://www.instagram.com/stories/jesusmadez/3407826311715163637/

Made also singled, walked and stole a base in DSL Brewers Uno’s 12-3 victory over DSL Pirates Black, raising his season OPS to an otherworldly 1.206 OPS.

Entering with that 7-3 advantage, 17-year old RHP Manuel Moreno from Panama shut things down from there: 4 IP, 0 R, 1 H (a single), 0 BB, 1 WP, 5 Ks. That’s Moreno’s 3rd straight scoreless appearance, lowering his season ERA to 2.04.

What a fun day for the offense: all 9 players scored, 8 collected at least one hit, 7 had at least one RBI and 7 drew walk(s). Alongside Made in the >1.000 season OPS club are SS Luis Pena (1.123) and 2B Juan Ortuno (1.034), who both reached base twice. C Freider Rojas (.889) and 1B Joandrew Pena (.695) each reached base 3 times.

18-year old RHP Gerson Colmenarez had started the game, conceding 1 run on a single and 3 walks in 2.1 IP, maintaining a solid 1.69 season ERA (though in just 5.1 IP total).

The victory pushes Team Uno’s record to 16-8 and they’re due to host terrific DSL Orioles Orange (18-7) on Tuesday.

Final: DSL CLE Goryl 6, DSL Brewers Dos 3
    Box Score and Game Log

This game marked the organizational debut of 18-year old RHP Aldrin Gonzalez, who was rumored to throw 95mph when signed in January 2023, before he lost a full year due to injury. Gonzalez started and faced 5 batters (0.2 IP, 2 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 1 K) in this contest. Congrats to him on the recovery and return!

The Dos squad was no-hit thru 4.1 IP and trailed DSL CLE Goryl 3-1 when they got the first 2 batters aboard in the 6th inning. However, a pitching change saw CLE’s reliever come in and register 3 straight Ks.

Team 2 threatened again in the bottom of the 9th inning, getting the potential game-tying batter to the plate with 2 outs, but a fly out ended it with a final score of 6 to 3.

LF Pedro Tovar tripled, 1B Eduardo Charles doubled and had a sac fly, 2B Moises Polanco singled, walked and stole 3 bases. The team went 7-for-7 in steal attempts, but 1-for-11 with RISP and produced only 4 hits.

On the mound, RHPs Johan Zapata and Lenin Mendez combined on a promising line of 5.1 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 0 BB, 2 Ks.

The loss drops the team to 14-11. The schedule shows a doubleheader against formidable DSL Pirates Gold tomorrow.

We hope that you enjoy the Minor League Link Report. On Tuesday, the full season affiliates return from their 2-day break, with Nashville (LHP DL Hall yet again?!) and Wisconsin (RHP Alexander Cornielle) playing at home. That means there are 8 minor league games on the schedule, plus the Brewers hosting the Pirates.
