thablingster, who is in New York this week, reports "apocalyptic" rain during the day. It'll be interesting to see if this game is played, without massive epic rain delays.

The rain is supposed to hold off until late this evening. LOL Reyes, that was epic. It is windy outside, but not that windy.

Narvy is going to finish with a sub 5 ERA!

EDIT: Wait, there's a guy on base. I may have spoken too soon.

EDIT 2: Ok, Villy stranded the runner. All is well. Boy, that would have been embarrassing.

Badger Mutual Insurance Runs!

And despite the error, they give Casey his 100th RBI. Congratulations, even if the last one was sorta cheap.

Thanks, Sean Green!

It's always nice to see the Brewers on a winning streak--would be great to win the next 3 and have some momentum going into next year.

How exactly did sweeping the NL Central champion at the end of the season last year translate into momentum this year?

Oooh, web gem from Rickie to end it. Nice!

Bad mood tonight, trwi7? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Finishing the season with a win (or possibly even a few) may not prove to affect the course for 2011, but if I have to look at a "last game" result for six months, I'd certainly rather it be a W than an L.

I'd like to think the Brewers sweeping the Cardinals at the end of last year caused their poor NLDS showing, but that's just wishful thinking on my part. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Maybe I'm just different because I'm a fan of all sports. After Brewers season is over, I'll watch the playoffs and pick my favorite teams out of that group. Looks like that will be the Giants in the NL and the Rays in the AL this year, so I'll be rooting for both to make the World Series, though I wouldn't mind if the Rangers made it out of the AL or the Reds out of the NL and then less than a week after the Brewers season ends, hockey season starts, so I'll have a ton of games to watch there and at the end of October basketball season starts so I'll have that and the Brewers will be a distant 4th at that point in time so I won't even remember if they won or lost.

I'd imagine the players feel the same way. Many have kids that they would want to spend time with after being away from home a lot of the season, they also have other hobbies as well and after playing for six months, I'd imagine they just want to get away from baseball for a while. Maybe that's different for a team that loses the World Series or something, but for a team that was never really in contention, I doubt it matters.
