Box: DSL Brewers #1 Squad 3, DSL Brewers #2 Squad 1, seven innings

Only one hit allowed by the three "Team 1" pitchers, although they combined to walk seven and hit a batter.

One could argue that the four "Team 2" pitchers fared better, walking only one, and two of the three runs allowed were unearned.

Pro debut for Team 2 RHP Henrison Mota, a just-turned 18-year-old Dominican native.

Also a pro debut for Team 1 RHP Arielbi Gonzalez, likewise an 18-year-old from the Dominican Republic.

The game's lone extra-base hit was a double for the winning Crew, by 18-year-old 3B Alberto Ciprian, a Dominican signing off to a nice debut season start (.944 OPS, 32 AB's).

Alec Bettinger takes the mound and Payton Henry has hit safely in his last 8 starts, as the Sounds try to bounce back from two tough losses yesterday:

Victor Castaneda’s been solid (3.54 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 9.9 K/9 in 48.1 innings), but needs the victories to go with it (just 2-4 record). He leads the Timber Rattlers against South Bend:

Late Rally Not Enough as Sounds Fall in Jacksonville

If you wish, there's plenty of lowlight video off the media portion of the Jumbo Shrimp Twitter feed. Unfortunate couple of errors by Weston Wilson at second base in the fateful 8th, hardly his natural position. Third baseman Zach Green committed two throwing errors earlier in the game.

LHP Quintin Torres-Costa has had a rough season. He'll be a minor league free agent this fall.

RHP Alec Bettinger should be on other team's trade radar, continues to maintain a wonderful K-to-BB ratio with the Sounds (54-to-10 in 47.2 IP). But even smart organizations won't be able to sell his 13.50 MLB ERA to fan bases, even if it's a tiny ten-inning sample influenced by his MLB debut disaster in Los Angeles.

It's a shame MiLB isn't doing split season standings this year. Go Shuckers!

Ryan Aguilar (first base in this one) may be hitting .117, but anytime you score four runs, you're going to get a mention.

Awesome flip, Je'Von!

Since overcoming an odd bout of extreme wildness in late May/early June, RH reliever Evan Reifert is duplicating his early-season success with Carolina, 54 K's in 34.1 IP on the season.

Antoine is probably just happy there's now photos and video of him on the web in something other than the T-Rats' lederhosen.
