I Was Wrong ... My Apologies

Christian Yelich’s Nine-Game On-Base Streak
Yelich’s first nine games have seen him get on base at least once per game, a feat he last produced in the 2019 season. He’s reaching base at a .381 clip, outstanding from a leadoff hitter, and has been much more proficient at laying off pitches down and out of the zone his last few games, something he struggled mightily with last season. He has also shown more regular hard-hit contact, hitting four seamers hard with a 71.4% hard-hit rate. He has a high expected batting average against the four-seamer and cutter and an xBA of .463 against the curveball, something he hasn’t hit well since 2019. Overall he currently has an xBA of .290 and xSLG of .489. If he can time his swing on the change-up, the National League should watch out.

Like so many of you, I love the Brewers. Occasionally, I get tunnel-vision in my frustration & “rant” in a game thread. At the time, my posts seem logical & fact-based … but in hindsight – I see that I can be stubborn & aggressive.

So – I’m posting this note to apologize to board members & specially to site owner – Brock Beauchamp.

Here’s hoping the 7-2 start is a sign of things to come. This 10-game road trip will be challenging – no doubt. I will not be able to watch the late games to the end each night, but I will review the game threads each morning before I begin my day.

I’d like to hit “re-set” & leave the batting order – including where Mr. Yelich hits – to our manager. He’s proven worthy of that opportunity!

I commit to being a “gentler & friendlier” IGT poster moving forward. 😁

Thanks foe the response! Yeah I mean I would say yelich last season was prone to strong stretches followed by awful stretches, and it's very early, but some signs at least of something sitting under it all. I don't think he'll ever hit 40 homers again but I think he can be a strong vet presence for younger guys. We shall see! Look forward to a debate or two regardless 😁

No need to apologize, I got a little hot-headed there myself. I've been wayyyy overworked lately and trying to juggle too much over Opening Day has led to burnout. I'm going to try to actually enjoy baseball for a little while and get my head on straight again.

This is something you won't see on other boards....

Props to being real people in a community and not just anonymous internet posters.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Wow..... at a loss for words.  edfunderburk - well said and I'm impressed by the note.  A good reminder that we are all on the same team here.  This is a place for debate, and sometimes that gets a little heated, but there is no need to stress out about it.  Agree to disagree and move on.  You don't get extra points for making others change their mind.

Please check your email. I just sent you some notes on the topic of burnout. 🙌
