Breakdown / Highlights
The Brewers began their week by wrapping up a six-game road trip with a three-game series in Atlanta. Quinn Priester toed the slab on Monday, and despite surrendering a leadoff home run to Jurickson Profar, Priester was nearly perfect the rest of the way, going seven innings and surrendering only 2 hits and just the single run. On the offensive side of the ball, newly minted Rookie of the Month Issac Collins provided all the runs Milwaukee needed, with a three-run homer being the difference maker in a 3-1 win.

In game two, Freddy Peralta took the mound. It was a trademark start, as Peralta was dominant in a short stint, laboring through five innings, striking out seven, and surrendering only one run despite a high pitch count. With the bats, Andrew Vaughn and Isaac Collins stayed hot, driving in two runs apiece, and Milwaukee won again, 7-2.

In game three, Milwaukee completed the sweep. Andrew Vaughn and Blake Perkins both went deep off of Braves starter Spencer Strider, while on the other side, Jose Quintana was efficient, twirling six innings of three-run ball and striking out a season-high seven batters. Trevor Megill would close out the game despite a Michael Harris solo shot, and Milwaukee completed a perfect road trip with a sweep.

To end the week, the Brewers welcomed the slumping Mets into American Family Field. In front of the largest crowd of the season on Friday, the Brewers didn’t disappoint. A game-tying two-run homer from Brice Turang helped pick up Brandon Woodruff, who allowed two solo homers in the first two innings, before Woody settled in, getting through seven innings.

The highlight, though? Undoubtedly, this electric throw from Blake Perkins to throw out the tying run at the plate in the 9th.

Game two was the perfect example of who’s hot and who’s not. Tobias Myers got the nod in the game for Milwaukee, who was battling an upset stomach, struggling to keep the ball in the ballpark, and surrendering three solo shots to the Mets in his 3.1 innings. The Brewers offense picked him up, though, with the help of a couple of costly Mets errors and another home run from Brice Turang. William Contreras provided the dagger with a two-run homer to score runs six and seven, and Trevor Megill fanned both Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto in the 9th to capture the series and win 7-4.

The final game of the series started with it looking like the Brewers' streak of good luck and winning ways was over. Quinn Preister struggled with his sinker command, getting tagged for ten hits and six runs, putting the Brewers down by as much as 5 early. However, Milwaukee clawed back. Joey Ortiz found himself delivering in multiple clitch situations, driving in three runs, and the game was tied heading to the 9th, thanks to some shutdown relief work from DL Hall. That gave way to Issac Collins, who hammered a pitch from Edwin Diaz over the fence to walk off the Mets, and complete their largest comeback of the year.
