The Brewers were unable to get to Tyler Mahle and the Giants on Monday despite a solid start from Brandon Sproat, with the offense only managing to scrape across 3 hits against a struggling Giants team, losing the opener in the process, 3-0.

Milwaukee evened the series behind Logan Henderson on Tuesday, as the young Brewer righty worked 5.2 innings of scoreless baseball. Meanwhile, the Brewers got to Landen Roupp for the second time this season, chasing him from the game before he could complete four innings, and scoring eight runs en route to an 8-2 victory.

Some shuffling with pitching resulted in Thomas Pannone toeing the slab for the series rubber match, and despite a solid effort in spite of some poor defense, the game slipped from Milwaukee’s hands quickly, turning into their ugliest loss of the year.

The West Coast trip continued Friday, as the Brewers faced off against the Angels, sending Shane Drohan to the mound as their starter. He was effective, recording 7 strikeouts in a quality, six-inning start, while the Brewers used the long ball to record a 6-2 win.

Robert Gasser followed up Drohan’s start the previous day with a strong outing of his own, while some timely soft-hitting from the Brewers was enough for the Brewers to ink out a 3-1victory and give themselves a chance to sweep on Sunday.

The Brewers ended the week as they began it, falling 3-0 despite a strong outing from their opener. This time it was Jacob Misiorowski recording his 10th outing with ten or more strikeouts, but the offense could only muster five hits on the way to their eventual defeat.
