Alexandre (Alex) Periard

Posted

I really don't know a lot about this player, but he intrigues me. Alex will be 21 in June, I assume he'll open the season at Brevard County, what can you tell me about him?

Does Alex project as a starter, or is his best shot at MLB in the bullpen? Baseball America tells me he throws hard, but I don't see a lot of Ks, is that because he lacks secondary pitches?

He pitches to contact for the most part and he goes deep into counts...watching him, it's very hard to see why he doesn't strike more guys out...

i think he's a starter for the long run

Didn't he lose a year because of a visa issue of some sort? I think last year was his first year above rookie ball.

yeah it was...he signed when he was 16 or 17...he's a b prosspect right now, but he could move up with a better k total this year...i think he'll be a top ten prospect for us if he lights it up in BC

An Olympian for Canada with Taylor Green.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Try pitching in Snow in April. He did a great job.

I see him getting better each year.
