This should have been addressed decades ago - it makes as much sense to DH one league as it would to allow the 2 pt conversion in one NFL conference, or the 3 pt shot in one NBA conference ..... no sense at all. The teams are competing for the same prize, so they should play by the same rules - I don't care whether that means DH or no DH, but I know the players will not surrender the DH jobs they've got, so get it over with and bring it to the NL.

Excellent move - I didn’t want a 50-60M investment here - but this deal makes great sense.

Keon was fun to watch - what a tease, he's one skill away from being a superstar - but he is what he is. I'd have done this deal, why not - you've got three kids to hope on, and they all have some potential - seems like a solid idea.

When Hiura forces his way up, Murphy them can be a backup option at all four positions. Clancy, throw the LF part out - Murphy hasn’t played out there since 2011, and he’s had a significant injury since then. Murphy can handle some first base, and he can still hit - though I wouldn’t expect him to match his best years. If Murphy is fully healed now, he may be ok at second base, but he’s just “a guy” with the glove. I’ll take the bat if he’s healthy.

I always considered Lee Smith as a, "take him or leave him" candidate - I wouldn't have voted for him, but I don't think it's a problem that he's in. I liked Harold Baines, I've always seen him as underrated - but I never once considered him a Hall of Famer - I still don't. If Baines had reached 3000 hits, he would have been voted in, and I would not have argued against it, because that's one place where the voters have been consistent, at least until you get to the Steroid Era. If you take Baines as a DH, that's one thing, but if people buy him as a right fielder, this is a terrible development. Baines was a DH from age 28 - he was not a right fielder, but if you take him as one - you cannot vote against Dwight Evans, Reggie Smith, Dave Parker, Bobby Abreu, - I mean, what about Rusty Staub? That committee had a former manager, GM, and owner of the White Sox from Baines' time there - they got this done. End this committee, right now, they obviously lack integrity.
