I don't care if you love Yost, you HAVE to admit that was an atrocious idea to bring in Aquino in this situation. Wise was pitching well, giving up a bunt hit to Burke. I just don't know what else to say.

I'm not really understanding the move to take out Wise either, especially to bring in another righty. Perhaps it will be explained later but some posters on here.

And I agree...with Aquino's recent past, this was no situation to bring him in for...playing the second place team in a tie game in the 9th.

 

Why? What happened to the Yost that would bring in the closer and just hope for the win in the bottom of the 9th. Especially when 9,1,2 are coming up and you're obviously pinch hitting for the 9.

 

Atleast Lidge is in...all isn't lost yet.

In that situation I would go Wise, Turnbow, Cordero ... and hope by that time our offense puts up a run....

Turnbow threw 26 useless pitches yesterday so he was not available today. They should have used Aquino yesterday up four runs and saved TBow for today.

 

Yesterdays move was a domino effect and I mentioned it yesterday in a post when everyone was calling the game in the bag.

Greg Aguino is our new Luis Vizcaino. I heard Ned talking about liking his hard slider or sinker (I don't remember which it was) to get double plays. I think that is why he took Matt Wise out. Of course, a pitcher needs some command in order to induce double plays. Aquino is not as good as Vizcaino was.

 

Ned is to baseball strategy what Bob Slowik was to Packer defensive coordinating.
