BA Top Tools

[colbyjack]

BA's most recent issue hands out awards for their top tools, at every level, including the big-leagues (I think the Brewers recipients have been discussed elsehwere, I apologize if the minor leaguers have also been discussed). Sheets' curve was voted the best in the NL, his fastball 2nd best (behind Lincecum), and Mike Cameron (Beltran) was rated the 2nd best defensive outfielder.

Here are the minor league winners:

Southern League:

Mat Gamel, top batting prospect

Matt LaPorta, best power

Michael Brantley, best strike zone judgement

Michael Brantley, best baserunner

Alcides Escobar, best defensive SS

Alcides Escobar, best infield arm

Alcides Escobar, most exciting player

Florida State League:

Darren Ford, fastest baserunner

Jeremy Jeffress, best fastball

Lorenzo Cain, best outfield arm
