2011-05-19 In-Game Thread, Afternoon Doom to the Reds and Cardinals Version

We'll try something a little different today. Brewers inexplicably playing late into the night (morning), no minor league diversions of the matinee variety today, so we'll cheer on the Pirates and Astros in a big way.

Gameday -- Pirates (McDonald) at Cincinnati (Cueto), 11:35 AM CT

Gameday -- Astros (Happ) at St. Louis (McClellan), 12:45 PM CT

If the karma on Matt Holliday and Lance Berkman continues today, that wouldn't be a bad thing. Joey Votto and Jay Bruce, too. Not that we root for such things here at Brewerfan. We're way above that.

Heck no. Extra inning losses that burn up the pen causing a ripple effect for the next week.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Those could still theoretically be 1-0 games. Cheese sandwiches, anyone?
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

One good loss down, one to go!

Go Astros!

Brewers win tonight, they will be only three back of first place in the loss column, regardless of what happens to the Cardinals.

The Reds now travel to Cleveland, Philly, and Atlanta -- brutal ten-game, ten-day trip before facing the Brewers in Cincinnati (again, with no day off in between).

Thanks, Pirates!

I was at the Reds game today and secretly cheering for the Pirates! I really did enjoy the vibe at the game, pretty cool place. Stadium is nothing special but has an intimate feel to it. Good stuff.

Cardinals win, but that's OK. They're also about to embark on a three-city trip.

STL now back in first place, 1/2 game ahead of CIN. Brewers trail each by three games in the loss column heading into this evening.
