2013-05-10 Brewers (Gallardo) at Reds (Cingrani), 6:10 PM CDT [Brewers lose, 4-3]

My fantasy rotation right now is Matt Harvey, Madison Bumgarner, Matt Cain, Shelby Miller, Matt Moore, Derek Holland and Hyun-Jin Ryu.

I'd take any one of those guys on Milwaukee, and every one would likely be our #1 starter.

Holy God, Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder have combined for 73 RBI. Wow.

I really, really miss Prince.

If we fail this year, starting pitching will be our downfall...no doubt about it.

I'm a little bummed, because Fiers, Peralta, and Rogers were killing it at the end of last year. I thought we were going to have something to look forward to.

Aoki batting .295

Segura batting .336

Braun batting .321

Ramirez batting .379

Gomez batting .376

Why are we not scoring runs????

Well, it's still early, so I'm not going to give up hope yet. But our pitching staff is last in the NL with a 4.50 ERA, and we need somebody to step up and eat up some innings/pitch well.

Lucroy, Weeks, and the absence of Hart. The fact that we probably have the worst bench in MLB doesn't help. It doesn't get much attention, but our bench is horrendous. There's nothing to get excited about in a pinch-hitting situation, because we have no one. I mean, Gallardo is probably our best bet for a big fly off the bench if we needed one late.

Good patience, Jean. Make him pitch to ya, or just get on for Brauny.

I wanted to give Kranitz the boot after having the worst bullpen in MLB last year, but no one seems to think he's the problem.

Well, Luc has had a cold start to the season overall, but in high leverage situations, Luc has been one of our best run producers:

...and of course, after that defensive gem by Phillips, he comes right back with the HR.

If we can't compete with the Cards and Reds, we just don't have any real hope this season.

Rickie is at the point of just kind of standing up there in the batters box and hoping that he gets 4 balls before he gets 3 strikes.

Coming into today, Weeks and Lucroy have identical .274 wOBA's.

How come no one ever complains about Lucroy?

If you've looked through these game threads, you'll notice that I complain about Lucroy all the time. :laughing

Axford? White flag already?

If he gets tagged here, this is the new revised guide for determining whether or not John Axford can enter the game:

Q1: Is the deficit of the game at least 10 runs either way?

Q2: Is every other pitcher on the roster physically unable to pitch?

Q3: Is the opponent a college team?

Q4: Is the college team Division II or lower?

If Ron can answer yes to all these questions, he can go ahead and put Axford in the game.

I'm with you, but at least Luc is still coming up with clutch hits. See Stache previous post. He is batting .360 in high leverage situations.
