Oh well. Gettem tomorrow yadda yadda. Team feels like it did in 2023. No soul

I sure could go for one of those "no soul" division championship teams

Hard to score many runs with no extra base hits. And the guys in the middle of the order aren’t getting them.

It won't be long until 1/2 our lineup is batting under .200

I stated at the beginning of the year Al LeBoeuf is a terrible hitting coach. Terrible!

Glass half full is that if this team continues to not look very good the Brewers have plenty of expiring players that could net decent returns at the trade deadline

Meh. Helps when 2nd place in your division is an 83 win team. Not going to get that luxury anytime soon.

If division championships are the apex of what we can expect as Brewer fans, then we have accomplished our goals, I guess.

Lol. Hoskins is our only expiring position player and has been our best hitter.

I don’t think they reflect their manager at all. Not a single player show’s fight or energy. They all look unnecessarily glum. That’s why they miss a guy like Willy so much to keep it loose.

Murphy just went out there and chewed out an ump in a classic way that you hardly see anymore…..and his team looks half asleep. How are they reflecting a hard nosed scrappy guy when they are acting the opposite of that?

Not playing good ball. Tons of mistakes. That's Murphy right now to a t. Anderson cruised through the 7th and righty bats lined up so we pull him and pitch a lefties. Why not just start the inning with Uribe or Payamps for that matter. Then when you see Koenig doesn't have you just watched him lose the game? Nothing like the pitching change after the game is lost. Murphy is not the only problem but he's up there.

You said "Brewers have plenty of expiring players that could net decent returns at the trade deadline"

Plenty doesn't mean one.

Murphy was tossed. The Koenig decision was made by Weeks.

Expiring means they are expiring and will be FA after the season. Hoskins is the only expiring position player. Pitchers can be expiring too....it's not difficult to understand.

5 pitcher games have to end at some point. You can't pitch 5-6 guys a night based on what exactly? My philosophy is guy pitching good? He stay in. Guy pitching bad? He comes out. Should be better than whatever is happening now.

Perhaps I am wrong but can't he still call the shots from the clubhouse?

Sure, you can trade him but especially as a rental with a not that low price tag, he’s not really netting much of anything. It’s a salary dump.

It's the apex of the regular season.  Losing two games at the end of the season to AZ doesn't mean the whole season was bad.  It just means baseball has a terrible postseason system.

I agree with you that the best 2 out of 3 series system sucks. However, we were not having much postseason success under the old system, either.

I hope we never see the day that Weeks becomes our manager … think Starr & Packers … beloved player - not necessarily a great manager / coach

Murphy will be coach until the end of 2026 season

1B with a 130 wRC+ would definitely net a solid prospect at least at the deadline.

I can't get rid of the overriding thought in my head that we were screwed out of two outs on the bases this week, and maybe a win, because Buster Posey wasn't a .208 hitter when he broke his leg.

With the team not hitting, you need the elements you CAN rely on to be there just about all the time. And the defense hasn't been. With Chourio, you're down to no better than your 3rd choice in CF. Quintana was pretty damn good tonite. But he walked a leadoff man, which led to a run. It's wrong to expect perfection from the guy, but right now we can't have him doing that. Fair to him? no. But it's more realistic than asking Collins, Ortiz, Durbin, Cameron & the like to 'step up' consistently. And other than shuffling pitchers that are on the 40-man, there's no magic pill in Nashville. In an alternate universe, Black isn't hurt & might be able to return here & get hot for awhile, or Quero didn't miss a full season plus & is more than ready to give Contreras an IL stint, or relegate him to DH for awhile. They're really in a sh***y place right now, and I don't see much of anything to blame Murphy for, other than the typical "he should've done this or that" which all managers are guilty of, if you follow a team for six months.

Very poorly managed game today.  Quintana probably could have gone 8 innings and he's a great guy to have on the mound with 1st and 3rd 1 out.  Instead they pull him, burn through half the pen, plus got Uribe warmed up and didn't use him, and will most likely lose anyway.

A reasonable point given Quintanas' experience plus the low pitch count. Flip side, the move worked. Mears came in & shut down the threat if not for a ruling that belongs in tee ball.
