I really hope Murphy doesn't throw Drohan out of being available in the Cardinals series.

Too late. I think he's unavailable for two days at least

Meh. You lost a series to the best team in the league. The Dodgers are the better roster, and they were clearly the better team this weekend.

It's really going to take bullpenning like crazy or true playoff aces to **** that lineup down in October. Worry about that when we get there.

The Brewers have come through a really difficult part of the schedule in great shape. Softer landing spots over the next couple weeks if they can play good baseball.

Memorial Day is a good check in during an MLB season. 30-20 is about as good as you could ask for at this point, especially given the injuries. Let's remind the Cardinals whose division they're playing in this week.

I think the fact that beating the Dodgers in a 7 game series in October feels and sounds like such an imposing, daunting task is just probably one of the most depressing and frustrating things about MLB and how the system is designed.

Nothing is more irritating watching a baseball game than seeing multiple guys hack out of the zone with nobody on base in a situation where you just need to start with baserunners.

The Dodgers won this series because they took the walks we gave them,

If the goal is to win a championship ask yourself as is how close are the Brewers right now. I say not all that close. The front office has to decide if that's OK or not.

When your PH options in the 9th inning are Luis Rengifo, Gary Sanchez and Blake Perkins, it’s time to shake up the bottom of that roster a little bit.

Wholly uncompetitive series that had major NLCS 2.0 vibes to it other than getting some fortunate breaks in one game in this one.

When Miz, Harrison and TBA are your starters for the Cardinals series, that's a problem.

With the Mets in last place, we should go out and get a reasonably priced rental starter like a Freddy Peralta.

A nice versatile prospect like Jett Williams might get it done. I’d have liked to see what he could do for us but they seem content continuing to trot out Hamilton and Rengifo.

I'm ready for any combination of Lara/Pratt/Williams to replace Perkins and Rengifo.  How much worse could they be?

Bad 4 or 5 hitter stretch did 'em in today. It's Yamamoto. You aren't going to win a 7-6 type game. I was OK with trying to get Sproat through the 'wall' at 80-some pitches---Freeman beat him for the walk, which wasn't surprising. Then Tucker beat Drohan; then the ambush.

Given the opposing starter, actually I've seen worse ABs than what we put up today. just couldn't get the 'next hit', as CC used to call it. Lately we really haven't seemed like a team that chases a whole lot, but vs the LA lineup it sure seemed that way because their swing decisions are impeccable. The better we get at it, the better we'll be.

Lineup just wasn't competitive the lst two days. They might have lost both anyway but the bats are making the Dodgers pitchers look dominant.

That's been our biggest issue in the playoffs. If teams don't hand us runs we struggle to score.

Agreed.  Can’t be worse.

can we send Gasser or Sproat to Boston for Durbin?  I know Durbin is playing awful this year, but he seemed to be developing into a nice player here.

It kind of seemed like in the 5th that Murphy was challenging Sproat and willing to lose the game to do it. I’m not saying right or wrong, but it seemed like in the 5th he was hoping for that inning to be a turning point in Sproat’s season.

Unfortunately it was not, though I imagine we would have lost the game regardless of what the 5th inning strategy was.

Matt Arnold be bold my man. Make a big splash on a big bat. When you have 46 different lineups you don't have a solid lineup. We need a sun in the middle of the lineup so the other planets can revolve around and take some pressure off.

It sucks that we wasted 20 million dollars on woodruff when that would have been a perfect rental fund to use to add a bat this year

Instead we are going to have to have our obligatory mid season press conference with the owner on whether the brewers have money to add a guy or not.

Yeah we did that with our heart and not with our head.
