I see that Cubs fans depth perception doesnt improve away from Wrigley

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Not sure how Woodruff is getting by on such mediocre stuff, but he’s been impressive these last two outings with his veteran savvy & pitching ability.

Bayern’s AB was not awful. Hit it hard to the right side.

The heck is Bayern?

That's something you should challenge Gary.  If you win it (and you would have) you're out of the inning.

I’m as hard on our guys as anyone about bad challenges/non-challenges but I have a hard time faulting Sanchez on that one. It was super borderline. Probably a win but not an obvious one.

Yup. He’s doing fantastic moving up and down the zone and changing speeds.  91-93 still plays.

It was pretty obvious and he very likely would have challenged it had he not wasted a challenge on a pitch that was nearly two inches off the plate earlier.

The Brewers offense is now home run or nothing.

For a team that doesn’t hit a lot of homers that means a lot of nothing

Have to give the Cubs credit they figured out that if you don't walk Brewers they don't score very much. One walk yesterday and none so far today

If you’ve ever gone to a game at AmFam you would know that Brewers fans are just as bad as anyone at getting excited about every ball that’s hit in the air. It’s just a reflection of the fact that a high percentage of people at a baseball game really know very little about the game and how to watch it.

This is one running joke that should be allowed to die.

Ashby scares me.

He scares me against the Cubs because even though the movement on his pitches is incredible, those pitches often end up outside the strike zone. Counsell knows that fact & the cubs hitters are imply patient against him. I fear he will walk a few & then groove one & suddenly we are a couple runs down.

Yep. His control has been a problem lately.

I almost choked when Schroeder said early in the game that the Brewers had controlled PCA well in this series.

Since then I’ve been waiting for payback.
