Let's hope we can draw upon some unused luck here. There is no way you walk two batters with a three run lead in the 8th. There is something really wrong with Botts. I hope Maddux can work it out.

Ned really loves to throw pitchers 2 innings in relief. I don't know why he would, as the all star break is tomorrow; unless he was trying to lower Bottalico's ERA.

So, we brought in a rightie to face two left hand batters in a tight, late inning situation. Looks like Doug needs to go shopping for Ned. Ned does not trust many of his options in the pen. Now I know why he often leaves the starters in too long... he is scared to pick up the bullpen phone.
