It would not be a year of service (how the year will be weighed is unknown but usually it would be that X number of days in 2027 is a full year with X being the length of the season). But if he is on the 40 man he would be locked out and losing development time.
The pitching staff gave up 2 runs in 9 innings. Over the season Padres score 4.28 R/G and the Brewers give up 3.82 R/G.
The offense scored 2 runs in 9 innings. Over the season the Brewers score 4.89 R/G and the Padres give up 4.27 R/G.
One side did enough to win yesterday and it wasn't the offense.
Yep, 3.33 RA per game is better than any other team over the full season while scoring 3.33 runs per game would be the worst in the league over a full season. So maybe the offense has been terrible?
MiLB are under a different contract. They are part of a different union. Now with owners basically wanting to kill the minor leagues not sure how that works, but they won't be part of the lockout due to expiring contract.
One thing is watching the YouTube channel CloseCallSports is that MLB is really bad at getting all their rules in the rule book and it has really been bad recently where memos take the place of actual fully written rules.
His numbers in AAA last year and this year:
2025 wRC+ 105
2026 wRC+ 102
in MLB:
2025 wRC+ 181
2026 wRC+ 131
Again very small samples but those aren't number Greg Jones type numbers that would get you booted immediately.
That just is not true. Over the past two years he has been good in MLB, it's his minor league hitting that has been bad (more like not MLB projectable than like say Wilken AAA bad). So the proof isn't the 41 MLB PAs, its the 606 minor league PAs.
I can see this changing if Ortiz also goes on the IL. The big issue is that they will also be locked out if they are on the 40 man so they don't want to harm development. So maybe Adams has a chance but even then I could see them being cautious. And no the FO is not going to say "well we are planning on a 5 month lockout so we don't want to harm development."
Do prospect skip AAA sometimes? Yes but often they ae not as young as Made or are dominating AA. Soto had a wRC+ of 169 at 19 when he had his rest stop in AA. Made has a 116 wRC+.
As a percentage, there are more prospects at AA but that because AAA also has depth pieces and more career minor leaguers. AAA is higher level of competition.
Wlilson is the posterboy for replacement level relief pitcher/spot starter. He has 484.1 major league innings and a WAR of -0.3. Given the amount of opportunities he has had for guy who neither throws particularly hard nor Ks a lot of guys I assuming he is great to be around allowing him to continually find work, but his jumping between teams and levels is what his career looks to be heading towards.
