Chapman to the Reds? Just saw this posted on Rotoworld: "Yahoo's Jeff Passan reports that an "NL Central" team has signed Cuban left-hander Aroldis Chapman and speculates it may be the Reds. A team source told Passan this week that the Reds were going after Chapman "like crazy" while the other Central teams -- Cardinals, Astros, Cubs, Pirates and Brewers -- have not been linked to the Cuban defector for quite some time. The contract, whoever may have tendered it, is thought to be worth $30 million over five years. Stay tuned as we sort this all out." Certainly interested to see how this plays out.

I know today is just a random day in early spring, but it really illustrates something I've been wondering about lately. Today the Crew had 11 different pitchers throw the 18 innings of split squad games, and at the end of the day, the group walked a combined 3 batters! Big "Z" threw that many in his first couple innings today alone. We've heard about the organization's emphasis on throwing strikes for years and it now appears we have a deep staff in terms of guys who just flat-out don't walk anybody. It's hard to quantify, but I would think that in a division with clubs like the Cubs who seem to walk a ton of guys..this should be a major asset and must hold true if we want the Central.

Hello All. First I'm not sure if this is the best place for this post, but it's my best guess. For the first time this year I'm joining a fantasy baseball league. It's on Yahoo Sports and it's a player ranking draft system. While a huge Brewer fan with adequate knowledge of the crew's developing roster...I dont have the same knowledge of the rest of the league. (but might have mentioned something about surely having superior knowledge to this group of North Siders) Truth is, they are pretty good at this. Does anyone have any advice as to a resource I might want to use? While I'm a new poster, I've been a long-time visitor to this site and am always amazed at the basball smarts of the members here. I'm here in Madison and am in a this league with 9 others who all reside in Illinois and are diehard Cubs fans. I can NOT F%#@ this up. Please help! Thanks so much!
