  1. Yikes...
  2. I'd be cool if they called it the "AmFam Ding Dong Dome".
  3. On the surface, getting Schoop does seem odd. However, could it be a way to have a solid platoon partner for Shaw at 2B? And/or is it a way to upgrade from Villar/Perez? Can Schoop play SS? Just random thoughts as I try to understand the Brewers thought process.
  4. Tampa reporter is saying that it is a three team deal now.
  5. I know Martin Prado's name has been rumored as available. Haudricourt named dropped Addison Reed.
  6. Reports are that they went with Rollins turning on Raw because of the poor ratings Raw was getting recently. It was all Vince's doing. Reports are it wasn't decided until Sunday, and it was kept a secret from everyone except those involved. The script everyone else was working with had Kane/Cena as the main event. And regarding why it was Rollins instead of Ambrose, as you stated, it was too obvious to have Ambrose turned. Everyone was expecting it. This now sets up a potential Rollins/Ambrose feud, which could be fantastic. Those two put on some incredible matches in NXT. I think Rollins turning will also help to give depth to his character. Right now people just think of him as the "high flyer" guy of the Shield. By turning him, he now has the ability to show off more of his talent and charisma and become a more well rounded character.
  7. What's next for the Shield after beating Evolution twice? Who else could they go up against? They essentially reached the mountain top as a faction. There is nowhere to go but down. For that reason alone it makes sense to have Rollins turn. It makes things fresh and opens up some new fueds like a potential Reigns/HHH match at SS.
  8. This is inaccurate. I suggest everyone read up on the rules surrounding Rule 5 here: http://www.thecubreporter.com/book/export/html/3517. Some items of note in the link: "7. If a team decides not to keep a player selected in the Major League Phase of the Rule 5 draft on its MLB 25-man Active List (and/or MLB DL), the player must be placed on Outright Assignment Waivers, where any of the other 29 MLB clubs can claim the player for the $25,000 Rule 5 waiver price and assume the Rule 5 obligations." "8. If the Rule 5 player is not claimed off Outright Waivers, the player then must be offered back to the club from which he was drafted, and the player's former club can reclaim the player for $25,000, with the player being automatically outrighted to the Reserve List of the minor league club from which he was drafted. The club from which the player was drafted usually has 72 hours to decide whether to reclaim the player." So, if the Brewers put him on waivers, they can't revoke it. If a team claims Wang, he's gone. There is no ability to play teams against each other to try and up trade value.
  9. As has been mentioned, it isn't as easy as making a trade. First, the Brewers have to place Wang on waivers. If no other team claims him, then they can offer him back to Pittsburgh. But I recently read somewhere that Melvin has been told that Wang would never pass through waivers to get to the point where they could work out a trade. I could definitely see a team like Houston, Arizona, or Chicago Cubs take a flyer on him. I just don't see how Wang is any different from most team's long-reliever. Long-relievers don't pitch much or that often, but you never really hear much complaining about that roster spot being wasted.
  10. I've said it before and I'll say it again: if you (general you) have never once lied in your life to cover your rear (whether it was to a parent, teacher, friend, whoever), then you have every right to come down on Braun and refuse to forgive him. But I suspect that no one here or anywhere can honestly say that about themselves. Ultimately, Braun didn't personally hurt me. Yes, he did disappoint me as a fan of his and of the team, but he did nothing to me personally. So why should I take it personally? Why should anyone else? We now know that Braun has gone out of his way to admit his mistake and express his remorse and regret. He's even reached out to Laurenzi and has reconciled himself to him. If Laurenzi has seemingly moved on and accepted Braun's apology, so should everyone else. On a much lighter note, I really wish Braun would use this as his new walk-up theme. Embrace your new reputation as "The Bad Guy."
  11. Three things in response to this. 1. How's the ref supposed to know he was going to miss the shot? That should have no bearing on if he makes a call or passes on it. 2. They hadn't called that kind of foul on the defender all game, so it wasn't going to be called on Gasser. 3. That's a foul on Johnson all day, everyday. The separation he caused with the push off allowed him the ability to shoot on open shot. It gave him a distinct advantage over the defender. It had to be called.
