  1. The 1 other is Josh Adamczewski, a SS with 898 OPS in rookie ball. What an amazing 5.
  2. Last year, they executed this approach perfectly and produced what might become the best draft in organization history. A few years ago, we picked Brown and Moore at the top, which turned out to be a rather empty draft. We'll see how this plays out.
  3. Partially agree, but that Cy Young candidate wasn't a high pick.
  4. I liked the Wilken pick, but Ray and Brown were wasted selections from the second they were made. I'm intrigued by today's pick, and I'm excited for what's coming up yet.
  5. The idea is to identify undervalued players to pick early, not to just throw a pick away. Heck, we could just draft a senior in round 1 and save more than we saved on Brown.
  6. Yoho was a great pick, but it had absolutely nothing to do with having extra money. Use examples like Pratt.
  7. Underslot guy is cool. They've earned the right to do it this way.
  8. Me too. Yeah, he'd be my choice over Benge. Smith had a chance to be special. He's gonna cost money though
  9. Also, it's just more likely to find a big leaguer by picking a college bat.
  10. Benge or understot for me too. Most importantly, just have a draft as awesome as last year! Yeah, that pretty much impossible with a significantly weaker draft.
  11. Either way, his fastball continues to get smacked. His velocity is way down. I'm guessing they send him down. He has no chance until he gets his velocity back, and I'm a fan of his. I'm guessing they add an extra reliever for today, and then Tobias Myers when this spot in the rotation comes up again.
  12. Encarnacion is irrelevant to the discussion, as his career ended because of loss of vision, which Wilken does not have.
