  1. Danny Knobler (CBS Sports) twittered that the Brewers "wouldn't part with Escobar or Gamel...." I read that as the reporter was told that the Brewers wouldn't give up either one, even separately. http://twitter.com/DKnobler/status/2825623129 Edit: I guess I type slowly. Sorry about repeating what others posted.
  2. The Yankees and Mets are only selling at about 90% of capacity, so don't think the smaller stadiums are really effecting MLB attendance numbers.
  3. RobDeer, I had problems the first week of the season with choppiness, but ever since then it has been great, other than last night. Last night none of the 7:00 PM games worked until a few innings into the games. Overall I am happy with with the quality though. I have a decent computer and a great internet connection, so I am able to watch on the highest picture quality available. If you have a poor internet connection then that isn't going to be an option because it will be too choppy, so it might not be worth the cost. My only other complaint is that MLB.tv Premium was advertised as having the ability to synch the radio broadcast with the the video broadcast, which I was really looking forward to. Unfortunately, that feature has not been added yet despite the the fact that it was a major advertising point before the season, and MLB.com support says there is still no timeline for when that feature will begin working. As somebody else mentioned earlier, customer support is terrible so there will be times when you are stuck paying for something that isn't working properly, but overall I've had a good experience since about the second week of the season.
  4. MLB.com support staff says that there are "technical issues" involving the 7:05/7:10 PM central games that are "preventing the links from going live." They hope to have them up soon.
  5. I've been to many games at the Dome, and I agree with the people who recommend behind home plate, even if that means the upper deck. The rest of the infield will result in a sore neck. Any seats in the outfield will result in not being able to see balls hit to particular locations, unless you get in one of the first few rows. As far as parking, I recommend either the Armory or a lot on Washington. Both locations are within a short walk and are about $10 (although I didn't get to any games last season, so prices may have gone up).
  6. I'm stuck watching on TBS Hot Corner, so I don't have the best picture. But, the strike zone box is up for every pitch, and based on that box, the first two weren't close. Of course it is very likely that the little box is wrong.
  7. When I log into my MLB.TV subscription I am told that there is a national live blackout, so I am unable to watch in that way. But, on the MLB.com homepage there is "TBS Hot Corner" which is allowing me to watch the pregame festivities from 4-different cameras angles. I'm hoping I am at least able to watch that during the game since I currently don't have television access. The quality is not very good though.
  8. I haven't checked yet this season, but last season I was unable to watch any playoff games with MLB.TV.
  9. Most of the article is speculation, but I think the quote from Sheets basically says what the chances of him playing are: "That's it. That's all I had. . . . It was all I had. . . for the year."
  10. Yep. Here's the JSOnline link: http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=800052
  11. Piniella kept Lee, Ramirez, Soriano, and Edmonds on the bench. I don't know how much more he could have done for the Brewers. The bullpen use was perfectly valid. They needed a tuneup before the playoffs. I doubt the best bullpen guys will see the field tomorrow, so that gives them three days off before the the playoffs start. Any manager with a playoff spot locked up would do the same thing.
  12. During the Bush near-no-hitter Anderson mentioned that he had previously talked to several other broadcasters to learn their approach to calling no-hitters. He said the consensus was that the broadcaster has to talk about it or else he is not doing his job. I will agree thought that he starts talking about it prematurely.
