  1. I'll be at the game tonight and will load up some video of Cody pitching later. Cheers! Kraig
  2. I've seen probably twenty Sounds games this year and . . . I'm sure Guerrero has told Katin to take more first pitches but DANG, he swings at almost every first pitch. It immediately gets him in the hole. If he'd just wait on the first pitch he'd be a much better hitter and have a higher OBP. He does have a slow bat-swing too. He positions himself as far back in the box possible. His right foot is sometimes out of the box. When Katin makes contact it's a rocket. He hit a home over the guitar score board earlier (April). Contrast that stance with Jake Fox's stance. (I saw him when Iowa played the Sounds in April). Fox stands one foot in front of the plate. His bat-speed is very good. He doesn't seem like he'd be such a slugger but his bat-speed makes up for other things. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3658/3590120852_a47ee51529.jpg?v=0 Here's a link to all the pictures I've taken tagged with 'Katin' this year. Some of them are successive shots too.
  3. Chris Cody pitched very well in his first game for Nashville Friday evening. 6.1 innings. 2 runs, 8 hits, 1 BB, 1 SO. 2-1 loss. I wrote a full blog-post on it. Included is a 5:30 sec video of his complete first inning and few more clips. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2481/3599044879_b348e7bf42.jpg?v=0
  4. Cody pitched pretty well really. He only surrendered two runs (1 earned) and even though he gave up eight hits, at least three of them were dinkers or broken bats. His control at the plate is super. He is rated as having the 3rd best control in the Milwaukee organization I believe. I had an interesting conversation with pitching coach Chris Bosio about Cody and his kids last night (funny). I'll be adding video [added now] of Cody's work last night on the blog later today. He's also a nice kid. He started signing autographs last night and tried to stop to start warming-up. He was visually troubled that he had to say no to more requests. I got his very first Nashville autograph. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3380/3591432592_78434956f8.jpg?v=0
