The MWL was a 14 team league this year. It will be 16 next year when Bowling Green and Lake County join the Eastern Division. That does not take away anything from three players on this year's Top 20 list.

In this tournament "placed on first" actually does mean "placed on first". The World Cup is using the extra inning format that was used in the Olympics. At the start of each extra inning, a runner is placed on first and a runner is placed on second. It appears that if those runs score they are unearned against the pitcher.

Nope. Pitch got a little away from McCraw. Runner tried to go to second. McCraw's throw hit the runner and went to short left-center. Braun tracked down the ball and threw a strike to Duran at third for the out. By the way, McCraw is throwing out would-be base stealers at a .333 rate (18-54)
