  1. I think anyone that's ever gone to a Miller Park game has a story along the same lines. We need a red-ish jersey for stadium sauce.
  2. Cesar Izturis. If he's on the MLB roster, the guy is pure agony with the stick. He's just like Yuni, except he cant make contact.
  3. If all it really took was a closer to get Jed Lawrie and we happened to have two, I certainly feel like we missed out pretty big on that one.
  4. So is it too early to talk about how the Angels now have three 1st basemen that can hit 30+ hrs a year and we (probably) have none? *edit* Or how we have 2 closers and they have none? I'm just sayin'.
  5. Yeah I'm pretty disappointed. Jerry would've been great off the bench and would've been solid to fill in for injuries. Oh well, best of luck to ya. Maybe we can start some "Jer-ry" chants when he comes back to Milwaukee. That'd be fun.
  6. Could they have gotten a less intimidating picture of Big Tex?
  7. Well that was easily one of the best Brewer related things I've ever read. I would give up a lot to be in that clubhouse for a day.
  8. This is such amazing news. I've been watching K-rod since he started on the Angels. he's lost some velocity but everything is just as filthy. We're in for a dominating 8th/9th from here on out.
  9. Keep the rules the exact same. Its Buster's fault he got hurt. The way he "blocked" the plate was one of the most un-fundamentally sound jobs ever in baseball. You do not, ever, block the plate on your knees. You're asking to get hurt. If Buster had been in the traditional crouch he would've got run over and he'd be fine. His leg never would've been trapped under his body. instead of trying to change the game, lets make sure every player knows how they're suppose to do things to prevent injury. Its the same thing as you always bunt on a suicide squeeze, never slide into first, etc. People get hurt when you play stupid.
  10. If Gomez hits well, and this new approach for real I think the two hole behind Rickie would be such a premium spot for him. The speed on the bags for Braun/Fielder would just do wonders. You could almost gurantee they'd never get doubled up and the two of them would probably force a lot of errors for infielders. I love Gomez and I really do hope this is for real. I still think he's worth a roster spot for his defense.
  11. Kind of sad he didn't catch on anywhere. He really smashed the ball after he got out of the 0 for whatever slump. It really was an impressive slump, he was absolutely raking the ball but it just never fell. I'd still rather have him backup Lucroy than all the other catchers we have now, to be honest.
  12. My key in bringing up the 08' team was the bullpen. Lead by Salomen Torres and a whole other crew of scrap players, I'm sure everyone remembers the September bullpen fall-apart. I think our team this year matches up offensively pretty similar with that one, our starters are better and our bullpen is better. I'm a lot more trusting in this team's bullpen and I think our team can continue to play with success throughout the whole year, with no final month fall apart.
  13. If we got 90 in 08' with that team, we can get 90 this year with this team. I'll say 90 again.
  14. My favorite I've been to is the Giants stadium. Firstly, the garlic fries, they're better than everyone says. Every seat is a good one and the entire building is pretty easy to figure your way around, very spacious. I've been there 3 times now, each time the Giant fans could not be more pleasant. I struck up a couple different conversations about being from Wisconsin and the fans were pretty knowledgeable about the Crew, we had some good baseball talks. McCovey Cove is awesome a great place to watch the game. Although they don't let you stand around for hours and hours but you can watch about an inning, maybe 2 if you hide. Busch stadium is awesome for the above listed reasons, its just a beautiful park. The backdrop is second to none. Angels stadium is my sentimental favorite. I caught a foul ball the first time I went there, off the bat of Tori Hunter. It sits on display on my desk and I can see it right now. Some of you I've talked to know I'm a huge Angels fan (#2, obviously, to the Crew) so there's a lot of love to that stadium. The rock garden is pretty sweet. I guess its mostly a pretty normal park, fairly cookie cutter, but its nice. The absolute worst I went to was the Oakland A's stadium. Its in a bad neighborhood and its a rough crowd there. Police and security guards are pretty much everywhere, its not very easy to sit and relax. Not a very well layed out stadium either. While I'm pretty much doing California, the Dodgers stadium to me is the most average stadium. If you can picture County stadium without the Beer glass, the nostalgia, and your love of the team, thats Dodgers park. It just is, nothing special about it. Although I did see Manny hit his 2nd Dodger homer there, Mannymania was pretty hot then. It was a circus. .
  15. From last year I really liked "Aaaaand SEE YA! Number 600 for Alex Rodriguez!" I don't remember his name offhand but I think that Yankees' announcer is one of the best. He always says the right all. Even that one was totally non special as of what he said but it can give me goosebumps. Absolutely nothing beats for the the Ryan Braun homerun that put us ahead against the Cubs to get the wildcard. Rock was so emotional all he yelled was "HE DID IT" and then BA came over the top with his high nasily almost crying excited voice "RYAAAN BRAUUUN HOME RUN!" Gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it or think about it.
