  1. I've seen the argument a few times mentioned regarding the draft that if the Brewers got comp picks for Greinke and Marcum they'd have to go on the cheap for "some" of the picks. This argument doesn't make sense to me, the Brewers would get a "budget" based on their total picks. So extra 1st rounders and comp picks would be figured into their budget. Granted they couldn't go after players with significant leverage, but this year a lot of players seemed to be more willing to sign near the slot figure than over.
  2. JosephC raises an interesting question we keep hearing how Profar, Machado and the like are untouchable when it comes to a rental deal for Greinke. But what about throwing in one of our top 10 prospects to get a top 10-15 prospect in all of baseball? Greinke and Jungmann/Peralta/Gennett (or the like) for Profar or Machado
  3. No matter how deep the bench is, you don't burn a bench player in the bottom of the 1st.
  4. Nice, get ahead 0-2 and then 4 straight balls. Doesn't look like Perez knows where the ball is going to go when he lets go.
  5. You can even see the HP umpire flinch like he's ready to call it a strike. Oh well got him on the next pitch.
  6. Can there be a silver lining to this season, i know there's a lot of time left in the season, but optimism is fading quickly.
  7. This team is all sorts of bad, not sure I have any confidence of any players on this team. Well maybe Greinke.
  8. Rickie didn't look all that happy to score, just relieved to get it over. Happy they got a W. Unfortunately the Crew look like a team that will be battling to stay out of the cellar/irrelevance. Hope they can catch fire at some time but I'm not holding my breath.
  9. Seems like Axford is really struggling to find the strike zone this year
  10. You can't look at it that way, because so many variables change. The way you pitch, Axford's mindset etc.
  11. Stubbs on 1st, Votto serves a looping line drive to right center over Weeks. No doubles defense was so deep the ball almost stopped in the OF. Hart throws it to the cutoff, Stubbs slows up at third and then heads home with no throw, SS and 2nd were not prepared to throw it in. Almost like they were surprised Stubbs would go home.
