  1. Monte Harrison HBP in the first inning and was removed from the game.
  2. Pirates in full meltdown mode. Down 6-0 with 2 outs in the top of the first.
  3. I'll give it a go. 1. Arcia 2. Coulter 3. Taylor 4. Harrison 5. Lara 6. Medeiros 7. Denson 8. T. Williams 9. Wagner 10. Gatewood 11. D. Williams 12. Lopez 13. Jungman 14. Roache 15. Diaz 16. Cravy 17. Wang 18. Matos 19. Rivera 20. Reed 21. Rogers 22. H Johnson 23. Segova 24. Bradley 25. Mallen
  4. The Mets are on the hook for $1.2 million until 2037 for Bonilla. Here is the story about that contract with a Bernie Madoff connection. http://www.celebritynetworth.com/articles/entertainment-articles/bobby-bonilla-baseball-contract/
  5. I really like this deal. I think if Matt can make 70% of his projected starts over the course of his contract then this is a win. I could see Garza outperforming Tanaka over the 4 years of this contract for a fraction of the price. Top end starters are just so expensive that filling out a rotation of 2's and 3's might just work out for the Brewers. If the Brewers get a bounce back year from Yo and Peralta takes a step forward, they could end up with a top half pitching staff at a reasonable price. Pair that with one of the better offenses in the NL and I am starting to get some hope we might contend. Injuries are my biggest concern.
  6. These might not be for everyone as they are foreign films, but I can't speak highly enough of Tillsammans and Klown. Tillsamans, which means "together" in English, is a Swedish movie about a commune in Stockholm. The closest style of movie that most Americans would be familiar with would be the Christopher Guest movies such as Spinal Tap, Best in Show, etc. So if you are a fan of that style, check it out. You can tell there is a lot of improvising and most of the humor is not lost in translation. It has a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. Klown is Danish. I most often hear it described as a Danish Curb Your Enthusiasm. I don't totally see the comparison, but the main character always seems to get into Larry David like situations. To me the character seems a bit more childish than Larry. Klown is also a tv series and available on Netflix, so give an episode a try if you are a Curb fan or just looking for something a bit different.
  7. Incredible ending in Appleton! 5 runs in the 9th including a Roache HR. Walk off error!
  8. Elvis Rubio left the building twice tonight! Not sure what to make of a guy like him. I wish it was easier to get information about some of our international signings. He struggled in his 300 DSL at bats, but had a nice BB rate. In his first twelve games stateside he has absolutely dominated and is leading the league in OPS and slugging. I tried looking back for a scouting report, but couldn't come up with much. Could someone point me in the direction of one if such information exists? Looks like he is a big kid 6' 3'' 210lbs. Hopefully we will see his power develop. It is nice to see some of our international signings develop and have success stateside. There are some intriguing bats in Jose Pena, Rubio, and of course Arcia. A couple pitchers have hard success too. Of course Gian Rizzo is interesting, do we still not know what he throws? The other player that i have never heard anyone mention is Eduard Reyes. He has topped 9k/9 every year, but I know almost nothing about him. Hopefully the Brewers will continue to invest in this avenue that they neglected for so long. It is fun watching these guys grow and I am hoping a year from now we will have a handful of DSL graduates sprinkled in the power 50 as we learn more about them.
