Brewers signing RHP Yostin Villalobos, most likely for the next signing period. Here he is with Brewers scout Reinaldo Hidalgo. https://www.instagram.com/p/BkAtZA-j3tk/?taken-by=joseodelpete

First look at most of the Helena squad: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bj5jWvKhgXM/?taken-by=helenabrewersbaseball

I believe Jim Henderson, Hiram Burgos, Jon Perrin, Johnny Davis all not present on a roster. I don't think any were reported to begin in rehab either. Henderson I think was reported to be signed for a player/coach role so I can see why he might not be rostered.

Braden Webb also heading the Carolina.

Tucker Neuhaus heading to Carolina, via his Instagram story.

Re: Feliciano in Carolina... I asked a scout last August if Feliciano would get bumped to Carolina or stay back in Wisconsin to start. He told me, "Yeah, he's going up" with basically a without-a-doubt look while saying it. Take that for what it is. Sounds like Brewers are quite high on him.

I feel much better about my rough roster projections after seeing yours. Though I'm not sure Jorge Lopez or Aaron Wilkerson ever step foot in Colorado Springs again.

Great notes, Jim. Re: Fidel Pena... I believe he has transitioned into a coaching role, which started last year. https://www.instagram.com/p/BYrTWo-BY82/?taken-by=fidelpena1830

Nick Ramirez's instagram story shows him at Mobile Regional Airport 2 hours ago... Shuckers don't finish up in Mobile under Monday. Guessing he's headed to Colorado Springs to help the SkySox in PCL playoffs? Good for him, if so.

Lewis Brinson left game in the 7th after grounding out to 1st... Nieuwenhuis to replace him. Said to have "pulled up lame" after hitting 1st base. Not good.

I think Zack Brown eventually turns into a strict reliever profile. Smaller frame, struggles with command and control, effort to his delivery... But he throws pretty hard and has decent secondary stuff.

Not sure if this has been noted yet (maybe it has)... But the Brewers have signed 1B Chris Colabello to a contract and have assigned him to the Sky Sox. It doesn't show in the Brewers transactions page, but he's definitely on the Sky Sox roster.

We have a Josh Pennington sighting in Arizona!! He's the starter for the Maryvale Brewers tonight.

Agreed that they are likely grooming Hader for the pen, no matter what they are saying . As the guy who runs @BrewerProspect on twitter, I was tweeted by a user on twitter in reply to my tweet initially mentioning Hader's unusual short 2 inning start on May 29th. The reply went something like "Just talked to Josh's mom. Said he's moving to bullpen" After seeing this, I decided to direct message this user on twitter to try to find some credibility to this statement. He ended up sending me 2 screenshot Facebook message exchanges, one that he had with Josh Hader's dad and one with his mom. The one with his mom went like this: User: "Josh left after 2 innings today... any word?" Hader's mom: "Hey Happy Memorial Day!! Yes apparently he said they're talking about moving him to bullpen as a reliever It sucks cause he was doing much better today. His dad sent me an article He read the other day of talks about trading. Hopefully just rumors" And the one with his dad: User: "Did the Brewers really talk to Josh about moving to a bullpen role? Pitched 2 innings today I saw" Hader's dad: "Yes josh said that came from the top" Our conversation went on and at one point, I showed him the McCalvy/Haudricourt reports that said Brewers are still sticking with Hader as a starter, and I think that almost made him mad, thinking that I was questioning the legitimacy of the messages he just showed me. He then went on to express his disdain for McCalvy and basically that conversation was that. I will also mention that shortly thereafter, I was messaged by a Brewers media guy that said that the same user once asked him if Braun left a game because of a herpes flare up...hmm... I decided to check back in with the user today and found that he had actually turned his twitter account on private and had blocked me (maybe to cover his tracks or maybe because he was mad at me, who knows). This is all to say that although I'm not exactly a biggest fan of this user and his credibility, the screenshots that he showed me were definitely both from Hader's parents. The question of whether his parents ultimately know what the Brewers plan is for Hader is an entirely different question, but it seems that they're sure that Josh is headed for the bullpen at least for the near future.

A few moves today: Jon Olczak placed on the DL. Conor Harber transferred from Helena to Carolina. Colton Cross activated from DL and transferred from Carolina to Wisconsin. Parker Berberet transferred from Wisconsin to Helena.

1.4 Royce Lewis

This is what happened: Monte Harrison had a ball thrown behind him. Next AB, he had a ball thrown right at his thigh. He then threw his bat & got into an argument which got physical with the catcher and ended up clearing the benches. He was tossed. As for Lara, he never left Appleton. TRats made a transaction today. Whalen to the DL. Lara activated to the roster. So Lara came in and the box score initially said he went CF, but that was not true. They changed in later, but he went to SS instead.

1.2 Brendan McKay

Zack Brown is back on Timber Rattlers. Luke Barker to the DL

There should be absolutely nothing wrong with Williams. I watched the game, he was just throwing a lot of pitches laboring through a lot of batters. The play before he left, Dubon intentionally dropped a soft line drive in order to turn a double play, which was called as one out, otherwise Williams would have got through the inning. Brewers have been limiting him to around 45-55 pitches each start in 2017. That shouldn't be surprising. Surprising thing is that he didn't start in extended spring, in my opinion.

Appears as though Zack Brown made the opening day start for the Rattlers, and then the Brewers decided to send him back down to extended spring. Weird. Would have been schedule to pitch tomorrow, instead Nattino Diplan is scheduled to go. Maybe they thought 3 Browns was too much for fans.

Starting rotation according to MiLB.com for Shuckers is as follows: 1. Aaron Wilkerson 2. Jorge Lopez 3. Taylor Williams 4. Luis Ortiz 5. Angel Ventura Jon Perrin & Bubba Derby both coming out of bullpen

Starting rotation according to MiLB.com for the Mudcats is as follows: 1. Corbin Burnes 2. Kodi Medeiros 3. Cody Ponce 4. Marcos Diplan 5. Conor Harber I imagine Freddy Peralta & Jordan Yamamoto will piggy-back 2 of the starters.
