  7. In the spirit of March, & because I'm a fan of minor league baseball... I decided to make a tournament based off of minor league team names. I arbitrarily took 16 team names from each of the 4 main levels (AAA, AA, A+, A) seeded them based on which teams initially sounded more intimidating without really thinking through the match ups. Here's the bracket --> https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LG38eRK4ggeZeyN0DkIgS8Yb1sMK4ojzijlPaMKdo1E/edit?usp=sharing Here's a reference with the logos for each team (Starting with Triple-A down to Single-A) --> https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zrbQdH9_bddkqoXoSxvX8CPrH_hVPepbFY0vOFobJVo/edit?usp=sharing I tried to think logically when choosing my winner of each match-up. Once you're done, you can compare your answers to the official, no-questions-asked, all-answers-final answer key of mine, which is found here --> https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CAcIe98JnUQ8kHp0wnr2vmXyX9NwwAE_mVbQYLy3CL4/edit?usp=sharing Enjoy!
  8. Stearns confirms both Brinson, Phillips, and Cordell will start in Colorado Springs... We have no reason to believe both Wren & Reed won't start there as well. That's a stacked OF for sure. In AA, that leaves guys like Coulter, Roache, Johnny Davis, Tyrone Taylor (once again), and probably one more guy.
  9. Some that initially come to mind: Lewis Brinson -- Mike Cameron Brett Phillips -- Albert Almora w/ less average Trent Clark -- Nori Aoki as a Brewer Luis Ortiz -- Carlos Carrasco Lucas Erceg -- Matt Carpenter Marcos Diplan -- poor man's Yordano Ventura Corbin Burnes -- Braden Shipley Ryan Cordell -- Bubba Starling Phil Bickford -- Tyler Clippard Mauricio Dubon -- Adeiny Hechavarria

  11. Hey folks, I joined in on the fun & made a personal Brewers Top 30 list. Check it out if you'd like. https://brewerprospect.wordpress.com/top-30-prospects/
  12. 2080-ball's Brewers Top 10 prospects: 1. Josh Hader (LHP) 2. Corey Ray (OF) 3. Lewis Brinson (OF) 4. Isan Diaz (SS/2B) 5. Luis Ortiz (RHP) 6. Lucas Erceg (3B) 7. Mauricio Dubon (2B/SS) 8. 13. 2080 Ball has Nash Walters as a top 15 prospect.... So there's that. https://twitter.com/BrewerNation/status/824016503368323072
  14. I know what you mean. It's the ideal way to go about having a load of SP talent in places like Carolina. I think it might have been mentioned earlier in the thread, but I think you'll definitely see that tandem or "piggy-back" role be put into place at the High-A and possibly Low-A levels again this season. Brewers utilized that last year in Wisconsin, having tandems of Diplan/F. Peralta and Burnes/Z. Brown throughout most of the year, and then with Jankins/Desguin once Peralta and Diplan moved to Brevard County. As far as showing that on the depth chart, it's a little tougher, since I really don't know who'll be piggy-backing with the other. Instead, the first few guys on each level from High-A on down are the pitchers who are probably still being developed as a SP and could be in a tandem role in 2017.
  15. With Demi & Lara, I feel as though they're candidates to join the Rattlers sometime in between start of full season & before the draft (a la Trent Clark last year). Even so, Lara turned 19 two months ago. Still would be quite young even for the Midwest League. Demi's bat still has plenty of holes in it. I'm not in any rush to get him to A-ball. Also still 19. Another thing I'm trying to think through: It seems like there's plenty of arms that are capable and ready to pitch at A+ in Carolina, but because of the overload of starting pitching options, some may start in Wisconsin, just to get consistent starts and innings under their belt. Guys like Yamamoto, who had a great 2016, and I'd like to see at the next level. Or Zack Brown or Trey Supak. Otherwise, you may see multiple tandem starters pitching the same day, which happen often in Wisconsin last year.
  16. https://brewerprospect.wordpress.com/depth-chart/ I've been trying to compile what some of the minor league rosters might look like to start the 2017 season. Have a look! Let me know if I'm missing anybody. I'll try to update this as soon as a transaction takes place.
  17. 1. Lewis Brinson 2. Josh Hader 3. Luis Ortiz 4. Isan Diaz 5. Corey Ray 6. Phil Bickford 7. Trent Clark 8. Brett Phillips 9. Marcos Diplan 10. Brandon Woodruff 11. Gilbert Lara 12. Lucas Erceg 13. Cody Ponce 14. Devin Williams 15. Jorge Lopez 16. Monte Harrison 17. Jacob Nottingham 18. Ryan Cordell 19. Demi Orimoloye 20. Corbin Burnes 21. Kodi Medeiros 22. Freddy Peralta 23. Nathan Kirby 24. Michael Reed 25. Clint Coulter 26. Jake Gatewood 27. Chad McClanahan 28. Miguel Diaz 29. Tyrone Taylor 30. Mario Feliciano
  18. FYI: "@longenhagen: Brewers righty Taylor Williams 95-98, thought I saw a 99 on one gun." Another potentially exciting guy to follow next year in Carolina (probably).
  19. link? i can't find this anywhere "#Braves announced they are moving high-A club to Kissimmee, FL in Florida State League. 4-yr PDC signed with former Brevard County Manatees"
  20. According to Todd Rosiak, back on July 23rd he said Harrison was 2 weeks out from playing in AZ, & 4 weeks out from returning to Appleton... So he should be getting on the field soon. But he could very well be done in Appleton for the year.
  21. There are several recent JR/SR 2016 draft picks (even beyond Gideon) hitting quite well in Helena & Maryvale. Weston Wilson - .303/.377/.485 w/ 13 BB, 19 K Nathan Rodriguez (who's still 20 yrs old) - .294/.388/.431 w/ 3 HR, 16 BB, 19 K Trey York - .315/.412/.446 w/ 12 2B, 21 BB, 26 K, 9 SB Jose Gomez - .314/.415/.381 w/ 21 BB, 26 K Of those 4, I think Rodriguez has the most intrigue. York needs to get bumped up, IMO. But all worth keeping an eye on.
