  1. The combination of the good sweeper and fastball is keeping us off balance.

  6. The manager has to trust his closer. If he can't, he needs to find someone else for the job. There are exceptions, for instance, when the closer has worked too much and shouldn't come in. But otherwise the man is paid to do a job. In Abner's case, he has the stuff to be an elite closer. He's not there yet, and who knows, maybe he never gets there. But he for sure doesn't get there if is sits on the bench during his stress situations. Fans often see just the game in front of them. Management usually tries to strategize for 162.
