My oldest son was killed in a tragic accident on April 18, 2023. Raised in Arizona, he was still a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan. In October of 2023 my younger son, brother-in-law and I made a pilgrimage to Detroit to spread his ashes. I knew one of the places I wanted to spread his ashes was Comerica Park. Before the game started I decided that I would ask a member of the Tigers warming up if they would spread my son's ashes in the Tigers dugout for me. With tears in his eyes, Juan Nieves agreed to spread my son's ashes for me. Not only was Juan a talented young pitcher for the Brewers but he is a man with great honor and I will never forget him.
