Yep, that’s the part that makes it feel so unstable. Even if this ruling is narrow, it opens the door for the next case to argue the next exception, and schools/conferences are left trying to plan around rules that may not exist by kickoff.
I still think there has to be some kind of eligibility structure or college football just becomes a weird semi-pro league with enrollment paperwork attached. But right now, it feels like the courts are going to keep chipping away unless the NCAA, conferences, and players land on something more durable.
