These are the the messages which appear when hitting the "approve" or "deny" buttons. The text of the message may be edited. The subject line may not be edited. These are here for reference. There's no need to copy and paste them.

 

Approval:

Subject: Brewerfan.net Fan Forum: Application Approved

 

Your application to the Brewerfan.net Fan Forum has been approved.

Make sure that you're familiar with the board's language policy. It's your responsibility to preview posts to make sure the language you use doesn't get caught in the cuss filter. Also, intentionally misspelling or using abbreviations to avoid the filter violates forum etiquette.

Denial:

Subject: Brewerfan.net Fan Forum: Application Denied

Your application to the Brewerfan.net Fan Forum has been denied.

 

As stated on the membership application page, we're looking for applicants to provide a comprehensive and reflective message. We strive for intelligent, quality posting on this site and feel that the application message is where prospective members prove that they can contribute in this way.

This one isn't worded as a rejection. Because of that, it would make sense to respond to the application PM rather than hitting the "deny" button. Responding to the PM lets admins choose the subject line of their choice rather than being stuck with the default "application denied" message.

 

When this message is used, the member name and the content of the application message would need to be inserted into the quote box. The quoted material automatically inserted when replying to the PM can be deleted.

 

If removing the member from the pending list is deemed desirable, s/he can be deleted via the member's administrative page.

We aren't asking for your life story, just a few sentences on what interests you about the Brewers and what you think you can contribute to the discussion here. The content, quality and appearance of your message serve as our first impression of you — and as the basis of the decision of whether we allow you to post here — so please put some thought into your statement."

 

Could you please respond to this e-mail and provide a more comprehensive and inclusive message? We strive for intelligent, quality posting on this site and feel that the application message is where prospective members prove that they can contribute in this way.

 

With more information from you, we'd be glad to consider membership. Thanks again.

This is a a hybrid of the terse denial message and the kinder reapply message. As opposed to the invitation to reapply above, this one contains a line saying that the application was denied, puts "comprehensive and reflective" in italics, and says "reconsider your membership" rather than "consider your membership."

 

Like the reapplication message one post above, the member name and the content of the application message would need to be inserted into the quote box.
