Halladay got it. In other news, what was up with them making Coffey change gloves?

Nice use of Coffey by Macha there. That was a pretty high leverage situation and it appears that Macha has faith in Axford and Braddock to pitch in the later innings, which is good.

My wife just asked who the Bears were. I explained that there was a Milwaukee Bears team in the Negro League. Her next question, "Do only black players wear the uniform then?" My response was a head shake.

Weren't the Bears in existence only briefly? I wonder how the Brewers have been able to (accurately) use both the white + black pinstripe and the blue/cream uniforms to honor them.

Some insurance runs would sure be nice. I don't feel like finding out if Trevor Hoffman's returning to the closer role on a night where the Mets are hitting everything.

Okay, raise your hand if you predicted at the start of the year that after 2 months of the season Hart would be leading the league in home runs and McGehee would be leading the league in RBIs.

Anyone?

If you predicted both of those, with Braun and Fielder both healthy throughout, and ALSO still had the Crew at 8 games under and 9 games back on Memorial Day weekend, that should win you a large sum of money.

I'm pretty sure I predicted Hart would lead the league in HR's 2 months in a couple of posts after I predicted Hart had completely lost it and wouldn't OPS over .730 this year.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif

Nice win. In appreciation of already winning this series, I promise not to complain about anything during tomorrow's game.

Beats the heck out of losing. String a few more of these together, get back to .500 by the end of June and maybe we'll have a nice summer yet.

4.1 innings of hitless relief to end the game. Why does it feel like I've died and gone to heaven?

On a serious note, why is there talk of letting Hoffman close again, Axford seems to get the job done pretty nicely.

Way to bend without breaking, Brewers! Please bring a good effort on Sunday. The Sunday Plus people love you too.

Great effort by the offense and the bullpen. Things are definitely looking great. I'll be going to the game and may or may not bring the broom.

Nice win, hope they get a sweep tomorrow. Great job by the bullpen today, tough luck for Estrada though. Axford should absolutely remain as the closer.
