I actually liked this kid a year or two back with the Tigers.

As we all know these under the radar guys have worked for Melvin in the past. Pretty good stats in Japan. It won't get noticed but he does provide additional starter depth. Looks to be a groundball pitcher.

I know his lattest start was against the Marlins (and he pitched great) ... but if he can slot into that 5th starter spot and continue to pitch effectively. This might have been a rather good find by Doug's international staff.

Sounds Manager Mike Guerrero had Figaro on his staff in the Dominican Winter League and alerted the Brewers to him, nice job.

entering 2013, figaro had one minor league option remaining. his contract was purchased at the end of spring training and he made the opening day roster. after a stint on the disabled list and a rehab assignment, the brewers optioned him to nashville on 16 august. he was recalled 30 august.

 

was his stay in the minor leagues long enough to burn through his sole remaining option, or does he enter 2014 with one option remaining?
