  1. Exactly. If Hiura needs to go down, he needs to go down. Expecting his temporary replacement to put up better numbers is not the goal. The goal is to have an improved Hiura for the 2nd half of this season and beyond. Guess I'm not really seeing how playing every day in AAA is going to result in an improved Hiura any more than playing every day in MLB will. He has a major league hitting coach here to work with him and access to every possible resource to improve. He was OPSing like 1.100 in AAA his last season there. He needs to learn how to hit MLB pitching, not AAA pitching. I know he's a pitcher - but look how Burnes rebounded once he got sent down. You're not acknowledging the fact that seding someone down might reset their motivation, and allow them to work in an environment with less-pressure.
  2. Agree with this totally. Give him some time.
  3. Had a thread on this last year and was BLASTED. I like Hiura, but people were so in love with the bat they weren't seeing the rest of it. You were? http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=39282&hilit=hiura&start=20 (Threads can be on different mediums most notably and recently Twitter)

  5. I honestly forgot all about Clint Coulter.
  6. I have to be honest here. Some of the trade ideas in this thread have WAY too much coming back for Hader. I'd caution people to understand that other clubs don't view Hader like we do. Even with the RPOY awards. (For example, there's NO WAY ON EARTH that the White Sox would deal Andrew Vaughn even straight-up for Josh Hader)
  7. I'm excited actually. He's still relatively young and that bat would play up in MP.
  8. I agree with a lot of those players! I'd feel more comfortable with Cron over Frazier but fine with either. As long as Teheran is added and it's not the only pitcher.
  9. Realistic Wish List Right Now: Keuchel, Teheran, Cron
  10. I don't see the Astros trying to deal that type of talent for prospects.
  11. I'm really hoping they look at C.J. Cron.
  12. I know it's a lot, but I am currently on the Keuchel 3-years / Teheran 3-years train of thought. Get them both and I'm fine with three years a piece.
  13. What is going to get ugly? Who cares what the Reds do? They have proven absolutely nothing besides the fact that they operate like a rudderless ship. First, I care. They're in our division. Second, they seem to be getting the pieces they need and we're not. Third, they are in direct competition with us on starters. Assuming we're out on a pitcher like Strasburg (Yankees interest) and Cole, and now that Wheeler's gone the other impactful SP's will dry up. Yes, I'm a little worried right now.
  14. This is going to get ugly quick if the Reds sign Bumgarner.
  15. I just don't know how else anyone plans on obtaining a #1 or #2 we need to make a serious push without planning on the late-season winning-streaks and pitching snafus we saw last season. I'd say try to get Urias - but the Dodgers would say no. It's the only fit I can think of. Edit: Julio Urias, obviously.
