That's baseball. The Cardinals are hitting little dink shots all over the field, and they're falling. We're nutting the ball, just happens to be right at somebody.

I just got my new Baseball America today. There's still rumblings that the Cardinals and Rangers might swap their top prospects, Jurickson Profar for Oscar Taveras.

 

I think Profar is going to be a great all around shortstop, but the prospects of having to face Taveras 18 times a season is something I'd rather avoid if at all possible. This kid's going to be a monster. So, I'd love for that trade to happen. Plus, I could see him at person at the Ballpark in Arlington.

 

The Cardinals system is just loaded. Kolten Wong, Michael Wacha and Taveras coming, Shelby Miller just came up (we see him tomorrow).

 

that taveras kid is going to be great. i hate thinking that the cards have a young bat like that ready to go for the next ten years. i'd rather that they trade that monster bat for profar. i dont think profar would hurt us as much as taveras bat wise.

 

The forward to last years Prospect Handbook was written by John Mozeliak and points out that when they recorded the final out of the 2011 World Series, 7 of the 9 players on the field were "scouted and developed" by the Cardinals. That has really stuck with me, there is something extra special about having such great success with home grown talent.

edit: a real lazy at bat too. he's an elite player but that over aggressiveness annoys me. lazy at-bats like that drive me crazy. the pressure is on the pitcher not the hitter. stop swinging your bat like if your in a beer league softball game. you dont always have to go for the HR. an rbi single would be good enough.

My first thought when Yuni got plunked? Aram is coming back tomorrow, so naturally one of our players gets hurt tonight.

 

I hope he's ok, too. I hope he's ok, because I know how much getting plunked on the wrist hurts, and I know if he's out, then Gonzalez sees more playing time.
