would not be all that upset if they flip flopped k-rod and broxton, but then again maybe broxton is better off without the pressure of being the closer. some guys just don't handle the pressure well.

I like the idea of Broxton piting to the tougher outs, wherever they fall in the inning count.

Elsewhere, big drama in AL Central. DET hit a 3-run homer to take 3-2 lead in top of 9th in Minnesota, only for Twins to beat old closer Joe Nathan with two in the bottom of the 9th. Royals lead White Sox and will tie Tigers in L column with win.

And Broxton is out after 7 pitches because Roenicke didn't do a DS with Maldonado.

THIS. THIS. THIS. My number one issue with RRR. Most important game of the year (so far) and we waste Broxton. The absolute refusal to pitch a relief pitcher more than one inning (regardless of pitch count, effectiveness, etc.) has compounded over the season. If a pitcher comes in with an easy inning, LEAVE HIM IN. Don't roll the dice and bring in the "8th inning guy" or "the closer".

Amazingly stupid managerial decision. Seriously. Like, 2nd grade stuff.

Let Molina get on base and force them to PR for him. Then get out of the inning and take advantage.

Putting the lead runner on in extras intentionally? Uh...

I don't mind pitching JJ here, because I really don' t think KRod is good. BUT once again we are saving our closer for a hypothetical save situation. I can not comprehend how a team thinks throwing a lesser reliever in a tie game is smarter than throwing them in a game where you are up 1, 2, or even 3 runs.

Because I was 100% serious.
