Tyler Wagner called-up [Latest: will be sent back to minors; destination uncertain… post 41]

I wasn't worried about him missing bats yesterday (though it continues to be a concern), he was missing up a lot. That, and his change didn't seem to be working. I also can't fault the Brewers for sending him back down. Their hands were kind of tied after the beating the staff took yesterday.

Next Tyler up.

So I keep thinking I am missing something. Since I am a little slow this morning, can someone else please take a look at this and tell me why this roster is at 24?

Smith is still active on this officially, and I assume Centeno will be replaced by Lucroy at some point today. I have counted this up several times and keep getting 24 guys besides the ones that are injured. What am I missing?

Blazek is missing?

That is strange, and I think you've solved it. I didn't bother to cross check this with any other site. Thanks AndThat!

Thornburg? Or maybe a Taylor does that count?

If I'm Spurlin or Linehan, I'm getting ready just in case.

Tyler obviously was the fad name in the early 90's. You can often tell the era of a player by his first name.

Anyone like me over the age of 50 likely did not know a single Tyler growing up.

Not shocking that Wagner did poorly in his first start. Not too many rookies do wondering the first time out...unless you are pitching against the Brewers.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I saw most of the Dbacks batted balls were weak grounders. I'm still baffled how Goldy hit that ball. Not even sure it was a strike.

For goodness' sake -- the kid got called up from AA for an emergency start against the team with Paul Goldschmidt on it. It's one game. He'll be back.

FWIW..Mr. Ace of the future Archie Bradley after giving up 5runs in 5IP today now has a 5.80ERA on 1.63 whip in 8games started and 35.2IP. In a losing season, not going to get upset on an emergency type of start when he's obviously not fully ready to be....unlike Bradley should be.

He had a 1.45 ERA through his first 3 MLB starts (he's 22 btw), & then got hit in the face by a line drive. Since then, yes, he has struggled. What a chump!

Seriously, dude.

Wagner is two years older & was in AA prior to being needed for an emergency start. The two aren't comparable.
