Think this is a really solid deal. Good AAV and shorter term to mitigate the risk.

Nice deal for the Indians definitely got Encarnacion on a more team friendly deal. He should have gotten about another 2 or 3 years more the amount per year is about right though.

Put me in the "not bad" deal camp. I can't believe no team offered more money. Sure he can't play defense but he's not a one trick pony like Trumbo. He's got a good OBP and a decent AVG to go along with the power.

Looks like the Blue Jays' window has closed...two ugly ALCS appearances and zero pennants. The biggest positive out of this might end up being the revival of the Montreal Expos 5-10 years down the road. The massive TV ratings for those Jays playoff games showed that Canada has major growth potential for MLB.

Gonna go against the grain here and say that the Indians are a much better team than the Cubs and are more likely to return to the World Series. They were down 3 of their 5 best players and just added an all star player as well. They are a better team than the cubs.
