Shocked he wasn’t ripped off the air instantly

What did he say?

A blatant homophobic slur on a hot mic. No chance he announces another game

What did he say?

“That’s the (homophobic slur) capital of the world.”

Slur was 3 letters starts with F

He didn’t realize his mic was on.

What did he say?

They were getting ready to come back from commercial and he was on a hot mic saying some place was "one of the 3 letter homophobic slur capitals of the world."

They pulled him off the air. He apologized on air before leaving saying he was a man of faith. He even said before leaving he didn’t know if he’d ever put a headset back on.

Ah, that ole "Get Out Of Jail Free" Card. It's always a winner!

A "man of faith". :laughing
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Suddenly, an infamous line from Blazing Saddles makes a bit more sense (re: Thom Brennaman's comment).

Actually, I don't and never will understand the reference but that's what I thought of immediately.

I hope this is Braun heating up and not just facing meatball lefties. Desperately need him.

It'd be one thing if the hot mic only caught that word or if it had come off like a quote or something. But the context made it pretty clear he's very comfortable using the word. He's done.

Here's the apology and the most awkward HR call of all time in the middle of it:

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

That's rich of Brenneman to insult another city. This coming from a guy that calls games for a city that brought us Pete Rose, Marge Schott and Jerry Springer.

Yelich over .200 now!

With that home run Yelich now has an .800+ OPS for the first time this season and a 114 wRC+. Impressive considering how bleak things looked for the first couple of weeks.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

That he's "insulting" a city is not the point.

Yep he’s done........I kind of wish people wouldn’t lose their career over one bad moment but in that context it’s not just a slip of the tongue.
