Aaron Ashby makes his first career start against the Cardinals, but has faced them for shorter relief stints three times previously. Aside from giving up a couple of home runs he’s been very good against the red birds in those appearances.

And there's the mandatory 20+ pitch first inning and still only one out. I suppose it doesn't help the offense when they immediately have to play from behind.

Ashby’s got an opportunity here to get out of this with no damage. Offense has to get it going. Bottom 7 or 8 in almost every major category. Shoutout to the Cardinals fans, showed up in big numbers to our ball park and had some good interactions with them. 100 times better then Cubs fans.

Of course at this rate more runs than hits isn’t completely out of the realm of possibilities.
