Am I wrong, or are we 0-13 when trailing after 8?

Unfortunately, the charts that used to be on Baseball Reference that made it easy to look up things like that are no longer there.

I don’t know if anything like that is available anywhere else.

I'm not sure what a manager is going to do when the offense looks like it does. There are just way too many guys who probably shouldn't be out there every day. I think this is the year to play them to see what we have but the future of this offense is who, and who actually excites you? Contreras? Frelick looks like his "power" is going to be from balls hit down the line that he's legging into extra base hits. Hoskins has been..meh..  Dunn looks like he belongs in AAA. Ortiz doesn't appear to be a high slugging player. Chourio is 20 years old after skipping AAA.

There are a lot of issues with this team. Not trying to tell anyone to stop complaining in the thread because I'm routinely the biggest culprit but it's probably good to keep this season in perspective a bit, as frustrating as it is.

I agree with most of your premise but Murphy has not been good either.

I don't think I would argue otherwise, and I've basically looked at him as a stop-gap until Weeks is the manager and Murph retires with his MLB pension (if he doesn't have it already) and he's ready to step away from managing.

I think he's been really good so far. There are a few decisions I didn't like. We're in first place with a rag tag pitching staff. What more can you ask.

Adames doing his hero ball ******** again. That 2-0 swing was absolutely horrible.

This is why you trade him before the season starts because his main motivation is putting up numbers for contracts. Walking isn't sexy.

Just not a good team and won't have a division full of awful to gall back on this year.

I wouldn't be afraid to start shopping him now.

Levering says the Brewers could use a break.

How about having your veteran SS field ground balls and make the opposing pitcher throw strikes?

They deserve the L tonight.

Why weren't we running with Black too? Isn't that why he was brought in... to stay out of the DP? What a frustrating game.

When you are clearly short on talent the manager can help or he can hurt. Murphy is hurting them with boneheaded decisions. Stealing in the 8th was ridiculous. Jared Koenig should not have been in that spot with Hoby available. The offense is terrible but man the manager has to be better.

Bad baseball tonight, I can't really blame Murphy much. By no means was he great but he doesn't hit it or field it. We need Yeli back bad, day to day has been what a month and a half.

Dillard on the postgame show straight up questioning using Koenig in the 7th when the A-pen was fresh. Feels pretty rare for them to question the manager's decision like that.

If these guys would play better baseball, the manager wouldn't have to make so damn many tough decisions.

Not excusing Murphy, he needs to make good decisions regardless, but right now, nothing is working.  No hitting, terrible defense, questionable managerial decisions, etc.

*enter fancy stats to prove we have stellar defense and top 10 hitting since the season started*
