Certainly he will be non-tendered after the season. So the question is in the next 20 games does he have something to offer over the next man up, if so a DFA would be merely punitive— which the Brewers wouldn’t do.

Just phantom IL him till the end of the season and try to sneak him by on waivers in November. 

ETA: Nevermind just remembered we will have to pay him like 3 million next year. I guess its a DFA/ non tender

So Murphy can’t quit Hoby and the offense continues to struggle ………very little hard contact even against Freeland.

Rockies have won 2 road series all season……..not good.

I am so sick of Murphy talking about how the team needs to be intense and be relentless blah blah blah and then he trots out Milner in tie games.     Ridiculous.   Murphy just said screw it.    Let’s just lose this game and another series to the Rockies.

How can I see this so clearly but somehow knowledgeable baseball Front Office leaders & our manager keep him on the team & pitching in tight games?

I’m sure he’s a swell guy & a great teammate - but he’s been terrible all season

I pray he doesn’t make the playoff roster 

It’s time to say goodbye & thank him for a few good years prior to this season

Freeland almost had 40 pitches in the 1st inning. Now he has gone 6 and will pitch into the 7th with only 90.

Murphy certainly gets blame……but you aren’t going to win many games scoring 1 unearned run either.

Lots of blame to go around……they just aren’t playing well right now.

Yep. And once these guys grow up a bit his style is gonna stop working. 

He is publicly critical of the players when they lose. It's garbage and it's gonna have an expiration date.

As a tactician he's the worst I've seen in a long time.

But hes got a great shot to win manager of the year and his team is one of the best baseball.  
 

all that being said.  He does some things that drive me crazy.

He is rarely critical…….its mostly “ I love this guy……and I love that guy”

I actually wish he would be a little more critical but that is just my taste and I understand most managers don’t do it.

It’s going to be aggravating to have the spend the rest of the season rooting for cubs/cardinals to lose to clinch the division.   Come on Yankees 

losing 4 out of 5 to cardinals and Rockies at home just sucks.    In September.     But at least we keep getting Milner on these winnable games
