  1. This will stay with them. And that's good. It should. LA played exceptional baseball. The Brewers played some of their worst. It'll feel like the gap is massive, but the Crew isn't that far away. But it's gonna take some ruthlessness from the F.O. and some spending from the ownership to get them over the hump.
  2. The payroll advantage doesn't buy wins but it sure gives you a lot more margin for error. It's gonna take 4 damn near perfect baseball games. Always was. Just hope the 9th helps them find a bit of their identity again at the dish.
  3. I was born after 82 so my worst loss list would be as follows: 2018 Game 7 and Saturday's inevitable loss. Game 3 last year given how it went and Ueck's health 2018 NLCS Game 5. Honorable mention: Kotsay in Center
  4. When you have a Game 7 loss in a World Series in your franchise history, nothing is gonna be worse than that. I think this would be on par with the 2018 loss.
  5. That's the biggest misstep among several from Murphy since game 1 ended. I thought he got over his tendency to overmanage. But even though they won I didn't like the pen game in Game 2. You have the advantage. Line up your starters, pivot to the pen if it goes badly. Tinkering too much, unnecessarily using guys outside of the roles they've succeeded in, that's how you lose momentum. And probably get reverse swept.
  6. Yep. Lotta playoff scar tissue. I am expecting the reverse sweep because it would be a new way to crush my spirit in October.
  7. Wouldn't have bunted unless there was a pinch runner on second. Chourio can't really run.
  8. I forgot how torturous this is. Got spoiled by the first two game.
  9. And that it was the same hammy he injured this summer. Every. *******. Year.
  10. Lost four games off the lead in the last seven. Trying to be optimistic, but it really seems like they're burning out after an amazing stretch. The amount of close games and high leverage innings the pen has had to absorb have taken a real toll. I hope they can hang on, but I'm not sure I see it.
  11. I think it has to do with the way these games have gone down. Kinda reminiscent of past years in the playoffs where they had all sorts of traffic on the bases but couldn't get the big knock. I'll be honest, I'm concerned too. Woody is leaking oil a bit lately. Miz isn't ready for this yet. That pitching depth is starting to wear a bit thin. Double edged sword with this group... Entertaining as hell because they play a lot of close games, but eventually that check comes due when the pen has to cover this many innings. Get one tomorrow and let's get the home cooking going again.
  12. Don't be ungrateful for the summers of entertainment and passion and a way for families to come together that Mark so generously provides.
  13. I imagine Knicks fans probably feel some of this with Mike Breen being the lead for ESPN. But I think this is over the top. BA still gets into the calls when something good happens for the Crew.
  14. The difference being is the organization is elite at developing pitchers, The track record speaks for itself. Hitting, well, that hasn't been so great with the exception of Chourio. Turang and Frelick can be serviceable contact hitters who are great defenders. Mitchell showed flashes, we'll see what happens with Black.
