If the Spring Training lineups are an indication, the Low-A Carolina Mudcats’ lineup will be amazingly prospect-laden:
- C Dinges
- 1B Bitonti
- 2B Adamczewski
- 3B Pena
- SS Made
- OF Payne (actually been unavailable with a slight injury)
- OF Anderson
- OF Nicasia
- DH Walling
- Bench: Nadal, Di Turi, etc.

I thought the Brewers official on the prospect game broadcast (maybe Flanagan or Castro? I missed the start of the interview) said the tentative plan was to start Anderson in the ACL, although plans could change. If they didn’t (or if Payne misses time, I think Alastre could get a fair amount of outfield time.

Thanks. Maybe that’s why Anderson hasn’t started the past 2 ST games. We’ve seen Alastre, Diaz and Barrios make starts.

Then Tyler Rodriguez, Edgardo Ordonez and Antony Gomez are also possibilities, with Gomez likely to add outfield depth.

If Anderson makes Carolina that’s 6 teenagers in the starting lineup, including the youngest player in A ball, Made.

Then with Meccage and some of the ‘24 HS pitching signings likely to reach Carolina at some point during the season this team has to be one of the youngest “A” teams in baseball if not the youngest.

The youth of this system is extraordinary.

Three of the four youngest in the Carolina league, and three of the five youngest. That's pretty good. And many are true prospects (Made, Pena, Payne for Carolina; Lara, Pratt, Adams for Biloxi).

Sadly Yophery was the 2nd youngest in the Midwest league, no longer.  Still upset at this trade, as it seems like a massive overpay.
