Big, big time bummer. Very, very good player on a whole lot of great teams. I loved him as an announcer too. I'll never listen to "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" the same way again. Condolences to his family and freinds.

Yeah, I never saw him play and have never even really considered his career in that aspect, so I can't say much there, but I always thought he was a very entertaining announcer when I was a kid and they broadcast Yankees games in Tampa.

That's too bad. I never really heard of him until his name was in Billy Madison (I'm 23, so I didn't really know too much baseball history when that move came out).

It's a sad day whenever we lose someone--and it's especially sad when we lose someone as beloved as Rizzuto. He was like your kindly, old Italian uncle who is full of life and stories and can connect with people of all ages. Besides being a terrific ballplayer, he was a sweetheart of a guy.
