  1. I couldn't find this anywhere else, but I am still a novice at this site. What are your favorite places to go to get fantasy updates, i.e. up and coming studs in the minors that would be good pickups for my new keeper league, closer news, etc? Does anyone go to places like baseball hq and the like and pay to be a member? It seems like that is a waste of $. I used to just scour the web for hours, but with a new kid, and a real job with overtime, I don't have the time to do the research myself.
  2. I kept my wedding under $5k. I used to work in the wedding industry for a few years, so I could tell pretty quick if a place was good or not. I don't know where you are, but we had our reception at muskego lakes country club. http://muskegolakes.com/golf/proto/muskegolakes/ and loved it. Chris, the boss, is amazing. Food, drinks were reasonable, and delicious. I got my flowers from a friend's wife, who started her own flower business a year or so ago. Super cheap, yet great quality. Her name is Laurel. http://www.bloom-laurelflan.com/ Check it out.
  3. first of all, the broncos thing is silly. Like someone just said, they are 6-1. They got rid of a brat. They got a ton of draft picks. Either way, remember a few days ago, Buster Olney said JJ had one of the best chances to be non-tendered? http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/11/olney-on-nontenders.html I didn't agree with it, but I usually trust his opinion. If you think that way, Gomez is better than non-tender. Do I think that JJ should have played better last year? Yes. Do I think that we should have gotten more? Yes. Think about the Twinkies though. Like others have pointed out, he was a top prospect. They probably think that he has a lot of value. If Sveum can teach the kid to be more patient, he will be an asset.
  4. Just reported on ESPN, they are saying its official. Edit: Changed thread title to show uncertain nature of the situation. --cc
  5. i like that you can put your friends as your players. there are enough formats where we oggle over braun and yo. either way, fun indeed.
  6. For any of you fellow Facebookers, there's a pretty fun application that has been taking too much of my time while at home and work; Baseball Tycoon. You train your players, and make fake money and play your team against your friends. It's a nice break from reading about the stupid economy. http://apps.facebook.com/...all_tycoon/?ref=69201459
  7. I am glad to see his name like this. He was one of my favorites when he was here.
  8. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/05c15f958002abf0dad5db8d168ee3fc2904120.jpg wow. that was easy. thanks guys. enjoy.
  9. i cant figure out how to put the pic in, but i have a great one of him jumping after the homer. he probably jumped a herculean 12 feet in the air, and you can see the fans going crazy in the background. its one of my favorite pics i have. i'll send it in an email or something if someone wants to give me their email. i tried to use the "add pic" icon when i wanted to reply, but seeing that i am illiterate to quality blogging, i couldn't figure out how to choose which pic i want. it kept automatically choosing a pic of dennys reyes i like showing people when they say you have to be a great athlete to play ball. i'll email it, or if with some help, i'll attempt again to get it on here.
  10. Hey Jason, was that anti-lechner group mine? It was either mine or Judah's. We both made one. Either way, good job on going back. I spent more time there than you and have less credits. I'll easily be 30 before I graduate from wherever I transfer, because I have my job now, and soon to be house, so don't worry about it. Make sure you try out the Sushi place across from Double Dip if you haven't yet. That is the cheapest in price, highest quality sushi you'll ever find. Salmon Katsu is my favorite. Then there's always the Boar......
  11. Here are a few of my favorites; never enoug(H)GH (never enough hgh) paddington ambushers (go to urbandictionary.com, punch in ambushed paddington) (dont do it at work or with kids) its my vick in a box (SNL "D in a Box" skit and vick in lockup) brewers offseason 1 helmet, 1 ball just to name a few
  12. all you have to do to be charged with burglary (which is a felony) is go into or on a premises without consent of owner while committing a (any) crime.
  13. I have the following bobbleheads that i want to get rid of. They are as follows. The following are in perfect condition w/ box: Chris Capuano (2007 full-size) Prince Fielder (4-6-08 50 HR king full-size) Ted Simmons (2007 small sized) Ted Simmons (again) Mike Caldwell (2007 small sized) Hardy, Weeks, Fielder, Hall (in that order big to small) nesting doll set no box The following are kinda broken: Harvey Kuenn special blue color (2007 small sized with a cleanly busted lineup card that will look new w/ some glue) Paul Moliter (2007 small sized with a missing bat, I know, I am terrible) I am looking for, in trade, the following; Barrelman Bobble Corey Hart Bobble later in the year. I work second, and third shift, and weekends, so its tough to get to the games now. I think a one for one trade of either of the upcoming bobbles for the Fielder, or Nesting Doll set is fair. If you'll have extras for both the Barrelman and Hart, I'll give you any or all of my extras. I'd love to get that done. I'll even do the driving around the area to do the drop.
  14. 24-10, to me, is spoken in the same breath as 4th & 26. both situations, i feel my team SHOULD have won out, most teams WOULD have won out, but that's not how the cards fell. if this doesn't ring a bell, take a gander at this; 2 huge collapses by my 2 favorite teams. in the eagles game, it was instant. with my beloved brew crew, it was a drawn out punch in my face. last year, i worked at the park, so i saw every botched call by nedly, every error at 3rd (albeit coming from one of my favorite players who now roams LF), every hanging curve, and billy K'ing while trying to pull a pitch down and away. the attitude of the fans slowly became more sour over the course of the season. it was my first glimpse of a serious chance for a playoff push. blah. this year? in my opinion, this stretch has gone unnoticed due to the relatively slow start by the team in general, and by a few of our stars. the two biggest reasons that i think we have a good chance to keep it up throughout the season; 1. Sheeter is in a contract year and absolutely dominating. 2. Nedly seems to be making better calls this year. It is a lot easier to manage when you don't have Turnblow 1 walk away from a 4 run inning though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
